$4,000 Consulting Fee to SEIU

Recent filings by the Malloy campaign with the State Elections Enforcement Commission reveal Dannel Malloy has paid a $4,000 consulting fee to the SEIU http://files.smartcommunicator.net/customers/192/file/SEEC30_October_10_Filing_7698%20pg%2036.pdf – a state employee labor union. Throughout the campaign Malloy has denied that he has made any special deals with state employee unions in exchange for their support, but this recent filing shows labor unions are not only working hard for Dannel Malloy – he is paying them.


This special relationship raises serious questions about Malloy’s ability to negotiate on behalf of the taxpayers with union leadership. How can he negotiate the best deal for taxpayers when he is on the same side as the labor leaders he is paying for their support?


“Dannel Malloy’s relationship with union leadership is strong and deep despite his denials. The next governor is going to have to negotiate with organized labor to fix our state’s problems. Dan has sent clear signals that he will be unable to conduct those negotiations on behalf of the taxpayers of Connecticut, because he has made so many commitments to union leadership,” said Justin Clark, campaign manager for Tom Foley. “It is another reason to be concerned about Dannel’s plan to raise taxes. As a candidate for governor Dannel Malloy has refused to rule out new taxes as a way to balance the state budget. He has said “everything is on the table” including higher income taxes, sales taxes and tolls, but he has refused to be specific about which taxes he intends to raise and by how much.


Now, a key Democratic ally, Portland First Selectwoman Susan Bransfield, has made it clear that the Democratic Party has moved beyond targeting millionaires for tax increases and is now focused on low income households as well. Appearing on channel 3’s Face the State, Bransfield said, “I happen to believe that everyone should contribute to the income tax. I know there are people who don’t pay below a certain level, but I believe to have full input… to be part of the state, you have to pay a portion of your income to the state of Connecticut.”


“This is the best illustration we could possibly have about why it is important to elect Tom Foley as governor and as many Republicans as possible to the state House and Senate. A Malloy administration paired with a Democrat controlled legislature is a recipe for new taxes on everyone. Including those that are hurting the most. The Democratic Party is unable to even think of reducing government spending as a means of balancing the budget. Their default position is to raise taxes and that’s the worst thing we can do during an economic downturn,” said Justin Clark, campaign manager for Tom Foley.

Hi Everyone. I've got good news and bad news. The good news is the Fire Pelosi Bus is still coming to Connecticut. The bad news is its NOT coming to New Haven, but going to Danbury instead. I have tried repeatedly to get details for you, such as time and place, but the RNC powers-that-be are "working with the state party." I personally spoke with a woman at the RNC about this, they were not interested in my help. So bottom line is this: I'm hoping I get details for this "rally" a reasonable amount of time before the event to get it out to all of you, but I make no promises!

To Launch Talk-Radio Program Oct. 18
Westport, Conn. October 4, 2010 – Peter Schiff, former Connecticut Republican candidate for Senate, is set to launch a weekday talk-radio show October 18th. The show is slated for air Monday through Friday from 6 PM-8PM, EST, on WNLK 1350 in Norwalk, CT. The show will also air on WSTC 1350; other stations are scheduled to pick up the program soon.
The tea-party favorite, and president and chief global strategist of the brokerage firm Euro Pacific Capital, is widely credited with having accurately predicted the bursting of the housing bubble and the implosion of the financial sector. The iconoclastic economist, author, and visionary investor, plans to offer his unique outlook on economic and political developments sprinkled with humor and practical advice on personal finance.
