     I will 'break it down for you'...along with the FDA and CDC information available to us thus far.
      Here is the current, accurate information you need to help protect the health and well-being of yourself and your loved ones.
     Recently, both cantaloupe and now LETTUCE has been recalled due to contamination with the bacteria known as Listeria monocytogenes (pronounced: list-TEAR-ee-ah  mah-no-sye-TAHGE-en-eeze).
    Here is the latest FDA recall list in an easy-to-view format for both the melon and LETTUCE:

     As this is being written, no actual illnesses have been reported as being linked to the True Leaf Farm brand LETTUCE found to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes

     BUT, while the original LETTUCE recall was limited to Oregon, Washington and Idaho, per the FDA, now as of Sept 29, 2011, the recall notification is EXPANDED to cover product shipped to 19 states (highlighted below and CANADA):
"September 29, 2011- True Leaf Farms is expanding its voluntary recall of romaine to include 2,498 cartons of chopped or shredded romaine because of the potential of contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The initial recalled product was shipped between September 12 and 13 to a retail food service distributor in Oregon who further distributed it to at least two additional states, Washington and Idaho.
At the request of the US Food and Drug Administration the recall notification is expanded to cover additional product shipped to wholesale food service distributors in 19 states and Alberta, Canada. The states include Alaska, Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Vermont. All the romaine affected by this recall has a "use by date" of 9/29/11.
No illnesses related to this finding have been reported."

     Please do take the time to read as much of the 'original sources' as you can.  (AGAIN: copy and paste any of the links here if they do not take you to the desired page directly.)
     But for your convenience and edification, these are Rev. Barb's recommendations at the present time regarding this Church Brothers, LLC Listeria romaine LETTUCE contamination:

1)  Absolutely avoid any and all chopped romaine LETTUCE 'processed' by Church Brothers, LLC/True Leaf until the full extent of this contamination is definitively determined.

2)  Check the 'brand names' of all the produce you buy against 'brand name lists' published on the FDA and CDC websites and here ABOVE at www.DearOnesHealingMinistry.blogspot.com/  Check back here regularly for UPDATES on this LETTUCE situation, as well as for articles on the cantaloupe contamination, as well.

3)  Even if your state is not listed above, be aware that not all distributions patterns of this fresh produce have necessarily been determined, let alone revealed to the public.

4)  Although NO ILLNESSES TO DATE have been associated with this chopped Romaine lettuce contaminated with Listeria, maintain a 'high index of suspicion' until the full epidemiological study is completed for this FDA Recall.  Be sure to see your health care provider IMMEDIATELY if you suspect that you may have a food-related illness and/or symptoms of the same.  DO NOT DELAY, especially with the young, the old and with those who are immunocompromised.

5)  Although, to date, only chopped Romaine LETTUCE from Church Brothers, LLC/True Leaf Farms has been determined to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, be aware that their other products MAY also be contaminated.  See the yellow highlighted list of vegetables above. 

6)  Since we, the consumer, does not know exactly what Church Brothers, LLC/True Leaf Farms' 'Specialty Products' are, be wise when you purchase your produce and take care to know determine the source of the food you and your family and friends eat.

7)  Although only RETAIL chopped Romaine LETTUCE is implicated in this Listeria Recall so far, be wary of 'bulk salad and vegetable' points of purchase, such as at 'salad bars' and in restaurants and other food-selling facilities.  Use your COMMON SENSE, but also check online frequently using the LINKS you have been provided with here.

8)  In this day-and-age of questionable food safety, take care to wash and scrub the vegetables and fruits you can (I prefer warm watch and dish detergent followed by a strong water rinse)...And to give a good 'soaking and rinsing' for those that cannot be 'scrubbed'.  Please note that with Listeria, it is possible that the 'inside' can be contaminated, so that even a good scrubbing on the outside will not necessarily assure consumer safety.  Chopped Romaine LETTUCE has it's own particular set of problems sanitation-wise, since it cannot be scrubbed, subjected to too-warm water and it has the further 'detriment' of having been handled more than the intact stalk of Romaine would be.  In addition, the 'chopping process' greatly increases the available surface area for potential bacterial contamination wherever pathogenic bacteria are present.

9) Finally, it is prudent to 'rotate food'.  In other words, try not to eat the same thing day-after-day, even if the food you are eating will be prone to spoiling before you can finish it.  "Greens" nowadays can be every bit as deadly when contaminated as the rawest of meats and other foodstuffs capable of causing food-poisoning.

     Hopefully, this Listeria contamination source will be swiftly identified and dealt with.

 Dear Ones:

     As of today, local Arizona news sources alert us that the U.S. Forest Service indicate that the smoke from the eastern Arizona fire Wallow Fire has spread as far east as New Jersey, New York City, southern Massachusetts and over the Atlantic Ocean.

     It's also moving into Mexico, New Orleans, Kansas and Florida and this will CONTINUE!

     I would urge all of you to stay inside with air-conditioning wherever possible.  Be sure to seek the advice of your personal health care advisor if you are in a smoke-filled area, as to how to 'proceed' while this smoke and fire event continues.

     It may be that the only 'safe' thing to do will be to move to a smoke-free area for the duration.

     Few have 'respirators', but in a pinch, N-95 (those 'hard' facial masks) masks may help...as will something as simple as a wet bandanna wrapped over the nose and mouth.

     Contact lens wearer, take care and maybe use your old 'specs', unless your eye health care provider says otherwise.  Use your common sense if smoke particles get 'caught' under a lens.

     Cotton stuffing in the nose can work in an emergency, if you are able to breathe only through your nose.

     Asthma sufferers, take special care.  See my 'ASTHMA CHRONICLES' for in depth natural alternative treatments of asthma in adults and children.

     Since this is an emergency situation for so many, my 'crash-course' on alternative care for ASTHMA-Smoke-induced or other- is as follows:

     For adults:  take one Solaray Brand Lobelia 50 mg capsule at the onset of an attack, up to 4 caps per day.  Lobelia can be taken when inhalers 'fail' or are unavailable.  It can also be taken as a 'adjunct asthma treatment' to supplement whatever pharmaceuticals a patient may be taking.

     If you prefer the stronger and faster liquid extract, I recommend lobelia liquid extract.

     My general rule for dosing in adults is 4-7 drops of either the vinegar or alcohol Lobelia extract.

     Many people think the vinegar extract 'tastes like salad dressing' and it can be taken alone right in the mouth, to stop an asthma attack in it's tracks!

BE SURE TO CHECK WITH YOUR PERSONAL HEALTH CARE PROVIDER BEFORE TAKING LOBELIA OR ANY OTHER ALTERNATIVE REGIMEN SUGGESTED HERE.

     (I pray that your physician has an extensive knowledge of herbs and is enlightened enough to be open-minded and to trust that you, the consumer, are capable of examining and are 'entitled to' ALL your options!)

     Since many 'lungs' have already been filled with smoke and soot, I am also recommending a rarely heard of herb called elecampane.  Herb Pharm has this in liquid extract form.  Unlike the pharmaceutical guaifenesin found in over-the-counter 'expectorant' formulas, elecampane actually WORKS as an expectorant.

     (Guaifenesin has been 'grandfathered-in', although it has never actually been proven to have the 'efficiency or efficacy' necessary were an NDA (new drug application) submitted for it today!  Note to pharmaceutical professionals: I welcome any data which challenges my assertion here.  Please  send mail to: BarbaraKSexton@aol.com )

       The dose for the elecampane is one dropperful every 6 hrs as needed, to be taken on a daily basis for no more than 10 days.

     I recommend that elecampane be given during waking hours, as you will want to 'work with' your body as you cough up whatever residue may be in your lungs.

     The third component of my 'smoke/asthma regimen' is the addition of liquid Echinacea Root extract at a dose of two dropperfuls every six hours.  

     Echinacea root extract may be taken for as long as six weeks at a time.  Consult your alternative health care provider for information on the proper way to 'cycle' dosing with this herbal immunostimulant/cleanser/remover of toxins.

     Place your liquid extracts TOGETHER in a little pure water, swirl and drink.

     For extra effect-especially with smoke-irritated throats-GARGLE with this mixture, then swallow, for the echinacea is a 'natural mouth and throat anesthetic'.  You will know you've got 'good extract' if your tongue 'tingles' a bit after you take echinacea.

     Write my suggestions here on an index card and carry them with you so that you will have this information with you at all times.

     And be sure to build your own 'natural alternative FIRST AID KIT'.

     Remember that in most emergencies, regular medical supplies will run out and you must be prepared to care for yourself and your loved ones (don't forget PETS) with whatever means you have on hand until you can get to your regular health care provider!

As crews start to get a handle on the Wallow Fire , smoke continues to pour across the U.S. continent.
The wildfire in eastern Arizona had burned through more than 408,000 acres as of Friday.
A map posted on the U.S. Forest Service website show smoke from the Wallow Fire has drifted through the Midwest as far east as New Jersey, New York City, the southern tip of Massachusetts and over the Atlantic Ocean.
The smoke is also moving south and southeast into Mexico and through the Gulf of Mexico, through New Orleans and into northwestern Florida.
The heaviest smoke is seen heading northeast into New Mexico and into southern Kansas; through several Midwest and around New Orleans.
The Wallow fire started May 29 and is believed to be human caused.

     Below is the timeline for the recent Arizona shootings from the Pima County's Sheriff Dept, including an addition of concern to us in red.
     Please fellow TEA PARTY PATRIOTS, take care with such as these who anonymously instigate and propagate hate on the internet.  They are right here next to us!

     I certainly don't want that to be the case here in Connecticut and so I bring this to your attention.
     There is no denying that the gross problems affecting the entire U.S.A. are no where more 'exemplified' than in this very liberal state of CT, to the point that I fear 'fair elections' at this point are now virtually impossible in the aftermath of the 'Bridgeport Ballot' imbroglio.

for the nation so distressed by the Loughner shooting...
for our government officials
and for their families and friends...
for all afflicted with mental and emotional illnesses and/or substance-abuse and for all of us voicing our cares and concerns for such as these.
Please shield us from our 'enemies', whoever they may be.
And please hurry along the return of your Precious Son to earth,
which is 'nonsense to the perishing' and the very hope of Salvation for the billions of Christians around the globe.

Dear Ones:
     Remember this?  When I first HEARD IT, I couldn't BELIEVE it.  What kind of speech is this?  I was astounded by it THEN...and I am astounded by it NOW...especially in light of recent news events. 
     The fact is that the President 'sets the tone' for everyone in this country.  I ask you to pray for all the innocents killed and hurt as a result of self-proclaimed atheist shooter's Jared Loughner actions.
     Way back in June 2008, Barack Obama said, "If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun,” Obama said at a Philadelphia fundraiser Friday night."
