Dear Ones:
     Remember this?  When I first HEARD IT, I couldn't BELIEVE it.  What kind of speech is this?  I was astounded by it THEN...and I am astounded by it NOW...especially in light of recent news events. 
     The fact is that the President 'sets the tone' for everyone in this country.  I ask you to pray for all the innocents killed and hurt as a result of self-proclaimed atheist shooter's Jared Loughner actions.
     Way back in June 2008, Barack Obama said, "If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun,” Obama said at a Philadelphia fundraiser Friday night."

     I couldn't believe my ears the first go around.  The quote in fuller context goes on here:

     The comment drew some laughs and applause. But it also struck a chord with his Republican rival. John McCain’s campaign immediately accused the Democratic candidate of playing the politics of fear. They also mentioned that Obama said he would use a gun that would be illegal under Obama’s plans to cut down on illegal firearms."
