Dear Ones:
I have a little visitor cat who is having a tough time wintering OUTSIDE! If you know who owns this cat or if you own him/her (I think he's a male, but I'm not sure) please contact me immediately at: BarbaraKSexton@aol.com
I've tried following down some lost/found ads unsuccessfully so far. I've been in contact with local officials, but figured to best way to get this tough 'guy' reunited with his family....or placed with someone...is to use my BLOG!
'Red', as I call him, won't come closer than within two and a half feet of me. He will come closer through a storm door and I tried to photograph him as best as I could.
I've only been feeding him for the last three days, but he has been around for at least 6 months I estimate, while my husband says he thinks he's seen 'Red' for a year, now.
Let me tell you that if this is an 'owned' cat, the owners have this poor animal out at three o'clock in the morning in wind-chill temperature weather.
No domesticated animal can survive like this for long without adequate shelter. I don't know where 'Red' shelters to sleep, but it must be somewhere, for he is still in okay shape, except for being constantly hungry and having a sore on his side....from what I can see from a distance, of course, with my bad eyesight.
I've two female cats inside and can't get 'Red' inside, even if I could coax him to do so.
So I pray that all who read this will pass along the following information to every cat and dog rescue resources on and off line everywhere. It is possible that 'Red' has traveled quite a distance, or he may be local.
I have two calls into Friends of Felines--God Bless Them--and will send them 'Red's photos. You can just tell that this little guy would love to 'come to you' and that he has known human companionship, but he is just so weary for now.
Thank You and God Bless You for Helping Save This Poor Freezing Feline
