Dear Ones:
It is good to know that the "Marine Musician of the 21st Century is as proficient at firing the M240B Machine Gun as he is at playing his instrument at a military ceremony".Dear Ones:
For the USMC Marine Band gave an OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE at Westhill High School in Stamford, CT on Saturday, May 28 this 2011 Memorial Day weekend!
Marine Corps veteran Pat Battinelli of the city's Patriotic and Special Events Commission thanked U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., for bringing the Marine Corps Band to Stamford.

Thanks were and are also extended to Mayor Pavia and Westhill H.S. Principal Camille Figluizzi for making this concert possible.
And, most of all, a BIG THANK YOU to:
---Band Officer (Director) CWO2 Chief Warrant Officer 2 Joshua A. Stone
---Band Master (Concertmaster) MSGT Master Sergeant William L. Call, Jr.
---Narrator GYSGT Gunnery Sergeant Jayme D. Dalberg and...
---THE PARRIS ISLAND MARINE BAND!!!
The crowd that amassed at Westhill's auditorium consisted primarily of those over 50, with most actually 70 years of age and over.
Not many young people attended this event (no surprise in a 'liberal' state like Connecticut), though the parade always attracts more of the younger crowd.
Arguably and to her chagrin, my 13 year old granddaughter was one of the very youngest there, being full witness to the extent of her grandparents and others' fierce sense of pride and patriotism in the U.S.A.
We explained why there was nary a dry eye in the place as the USMC Band played and we stood and honored and remembered and enjoyed the beautiful music.
We each must teach young people to appreciate their 'freedom and liberty' before it is too late!
So download the program bulletin above as a keepsake if you like and check out my YouTube uploads of parts of the concert for you to enjoy, including a moving and heartfelt tribute to local veterans.
God Bless You & God Bless America
