Last week I summarized the risk likelihood, in my opinion, of certain pets contracting the H1N1 (Swine) Influenza virus. I wrote:
PET PIGS: Definitely at risk
FOOD PIGS: Definitely at risk
DOGS: Potentially at riskPET PIGS: Definitely at risk
FOOD PIGS: Definitely at risk
CATS: Potentially at risk
FERRETS: Definitely at risk

Now, I am sorry to say that there is a report of a cat in Iowa catching the H1N1 virus from his family. Here is the link to the news report.

The important thing is to NOT panic, but to follow the suggestions I laid out in my original piece: http://dearoneshealingministry.blogspot.com/2009/10/can-your-pets-catch-h1n1-flu-virus.html
Pet are family members and we must all take care of each other with good hygience practices, vigilence and common sense.
God keep and protect you, Reverend Barbara Sexton
