After attending a community seminar at Norwalk Hospital this past Thursday, November 12, 2009, the answer is "NO". These drugs should be taken if one gets the flu, and the sooner you can get on them, the better.
This information is per: Dr. Arthur Yee, Head of the Infectious Diseases at Norwalk Hospital. This recommendation is also per the CDC and other websites listed on this Dear Ones Healing Ministry website.
Think of this: It is best to save the limited medications we have for those in the highest risk groups.
Also, overuse of antivirals will lead to the same resistance problems we have with antibiotics (witness MRSA, for instance) and that would not be a good thing.
