I also have to mention Michele Speer, RN, Nurse Coordinator for the Breast Center at Stamford Hospital, who walks scaredy cats such as myself through every possible step of the way with breast testing and surgical issues. Even clergy get that 'sinking feeling' when something as serious as cancer looms and this is when a topnotch medical staff and setting makes all the difference in the world to the patient and her family.
Dr. Manasseh's staff does not miss anything, appointment and follow-up-wise, always reminding and confirming appointments and follow-ups...all at a time when a woman might yet be recovering from a surgery and/or undergoing difficult treatments. God clearly blesses the work Dr. Manasseh and her staff do everyday. Reverend Barbara Sexton 11/17/09-If you have any questions or comments, just email me at: BarbaraKSexton@aol.com

Paint the Town Pink Fashion Show 2009
Breast cancer survivors and their physicians hit the catwalk in Stamford Hospital’s annual Paint the Town Pink Fashion Show. The event took place at Saks Fifth Avenue in the Stamford Town Center on October 14. In all, 15 breast cancer survivors and 10 physicians (medical and radiation oncologists and surgeons) participated.
The fashion show kicked off Saks Fifth Avenue’s annual KEY TO THE CURE charity shopping weekend, which raises funds and awareness for women’s cancer research and treatment organizations throughout the United States.
“Paint the Town Pink” is a community-wide effort that runs throughout the month of October, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Its goal is to raise awareness for breast cancer-related issues such as the importance of screenings and early detection, as well as the treatment and services available in this area. The campaign is sponsored by Stamford Hospital in conjunction with organizations throughout the communities of, Darien, New Canaan and Stamford. (Contributed photos)
