I never thought I would see the day when I would PREFER discussing something as serious as a flu Pandemic over the state-of-affairs at my own church, but here goes. I am pleased to announce this 'welcome distraction', for those of you who would still like to get your H1N1 vaccine(s).IGNORE THE FOLLOWING SMALL PRINT IF YOU HATE CHURCH POLITICS AS MUCH AS I DO AND SKIP DOWN TO H1N1 INFO! (It was wonderful to see you all yesterday. Don't think that just because I am not always with you in person that I am not with you in spirit and/or that I don't care. I've always been able to 'rise above' the politics and the posturing in the pulpit. But now is my time to speak OPENLY and LOUDLY, as I did not for all the years I was an officer at FCC Stamford. Now I can freely and publicly discuss my distaste for the racism I see there in a congregation compelled weekly to pray to "God the Mother". Thanks be to God (the FATHER!) I'm liberated from the SLAVERY of that UCC theology! Nothing done in the dark will withstand the scrutiny of the light of day, nothing at all.)
But back to the H1N1 Pandemic--
I will recap what's going on in the nation and in the Connecticut Tri State Area, separately, so please check in later . I know that many of you--of us--have HAD versions of the flu this season, also, so please do pass this info along to anyone who still would like to have some degree of immunity via vaccination.
Here's your Stamford Health Dept Link, with the details. As always, please be sure to CHECK the website below and call the HEALTH DEPT H1N1 HOTLINE NUMBER 203-977-4213 before you leave the office or house, to see if things are 'still on'. Last week's clinic was canceled, if you will remember, due to the weather.
If you have particular questions, email me and I will answer them as best as I can and if I don't know the answer, I will find it out and/or direct you to other experts. The main thing is that I want you to stay well and healthy--all of you!
With Love in Christ,
Reverend Barbara Sexton
