Dear Ones:
     In my upcoming book 'Entertaining Angels' (due to be released Dec. 21, 2012), I go to great pains to describe how 'insulated' many of us were from 'the real world' as uniform-wearing members of The Salvation Army.
     I was an exception, for  I personally watched 'cable news'...usually CNN.  And when the 'Gulf Wars' were in full effect, I actually asked 'the guys' to scrounge around for a small t.v. set so I could watch the action in 'real time'.
     Ever a fan of the superb technology of the Mossad (responsible for the very best of 'night-vision technology'), I watched tracer rounds and 'hits' directed with surgical accuracy by our finest of U.S. military forces.
     I read the newspapers and kept current on the 'big things' going on in the world, unlike many of my Salvation Army cohorts.
     I knew one young lady, an officer-school candidate, in fact, who 'hadn't read a newspaper in over two and a half years', according to her own reports.
     Judging from her 'lack of knowledge about the world', I would have to vouch that her claim was true....Though, at the time, I could not understand how she could 'exist' that way.
     On the other hand, politics never was something I either stayed on top of or got involved in.  I was 'apolitical' and proud of it to a certain degree.
     But that was actually a foolish philosophy, for Christ, himself, was hardly 'apolitical'.  He gave it to politico-religious leaders but GOOD, at times!
     And Jesus provided sure 'guidelines' for us in terms of 'serving two masters' and 'giving Cesaer his due', so I cannot say that I was not forewarned about what my life would later hold in surprise for me.
     Fast forward to 2007 summertime, June to be exact.  My local church pleaded with me to 'be their voting delegate' and to 'represent them' at the United Church of Christ (UCC) 'Synod 2007' in Hartford, CT.
     "Why ME?", I asked, without a scintilla of false modesty.  I felt their 'choice' was ludicrous!
     I was 'apolitical' (as I've said before), deliberately withholding my political views from the congregation, for I felt them to be utterly IRRELEVENT to my ministerial and counseling duties, such as they were.
     Yet, all claimed that 'I was the woman for the job' without the slightest consideration that I just might be the 'moderate-conservative' amongst them.
     I'm sorry, but if my Salvation Army background and obvious pro-life, pro-right-to-bear-arms and pro-capital punishment (in certain cases) stances weren't a dead 'give-away', I don't know what would be.
     The congregation responsible for my becoming suddenly political knew very well how strongly I subscribe to the tenets of the Bible as my Father in Heaven dictates...Not something the UCC is very notorious for.
     Yet, still they persisted and ultimately I was persuaded to attend SYNOD 2007.
     Let me now cut to the chase with this entire-church UCC 'meeting':  When I 'hit' the Hartford Civic Center, the 'keynote speaker' was one then-Senator Barack Obama.
     All were greeted out front by 'guys in suits and bow-ties', the Secret Service, and lines and lines of tables of 'Democratic operatives' who were 'signing up' and registering voters in bulk.
     I freaked.
     I was incensed to learn that this 'Synod-In-The-City' was nothing more than a 'first campaign speech opportunity' for then-Senator Barack Obama.
     Silly me--I'd actually expected for this to be a 'religious' meeting of sorts, sub-texted by some sociological workshops and an assortment of agenda items for which I would faithfully represent my local church.
     Truth to tell, until this point, I was willing to put my personal opinions aside and 'vote on behalf of my local church (FCC Stamford)' as God so directed me.  The congregation had sent me there to do just that, hadn't they?
     But once I saw all the blatant electioneering (which apparently was not witnessed by many in the UCC at all, for some strange reason!), I welched.
     The Senator Barack Obama and myself belonged to the same 'church', alright, but there was no way, no how I could sanction the rhetoric and actions of one Reverend Jeremiah Wright and company, whom Senator Obama so righteously 'admired'.
     Indeed, it only got worse for me as I returned to Stamford and finding myself in the untenable position of having to 'defend' Wright while entertaining concerns and complaints (from both the congregation and the community)  about the obvious racism in 'Black Liberation Theology'.
     I tried to 'defend things' a few times, and then said, 'to heck with it'.  This dog was not going to fly.
     Since my political awakening in 2007, I have witnessed Wright's 'fall from grace', UCC President John Thomas's 'fall from grace', and any number of truly disturbing and revolting shenanigans eeked out by 'the UCC religious community' under the guise of 'Christianity in action'.
     Well, it's anything but Christianity and so much more like a socio-political machine that certain individuals (I am not one of them, for the record) lodged a complaint with the IRS regarding the UCC's 'tax-emempt' status.
     The UCC 'skated', of course, and Obama resigned from this church.  Since then, a cascade of events has occurred which has rendered the UCC impotent and essentially 'broke'.
     There is no hope of it reactivating itself as the 'political machine' it once was, fighting so hard to get President Obama elected, for the simple reasons that they haven't the money and they are under 'scrutiny' should they ever try to play 'loose and free' with the concept of 'separation of church and state' again!
     The last thing 'they' need to do is to jeopardize their 'tax-exempt status'...again.
     Still, some effects from Synod 2007 persist, one of which is my 'personal politicization'.
      Never again will my 'Christian conscience' be totally divorced from the theater of politics.
     And never again will I ever trust a 'leader' or 'body' (religious or otherwise) engaged in the political machine while daring to claim 'theological superiority' on ANYTHING...for I know such an entity does not exist apart from the grace of God.
     Suffice it to say that I now look upon the 2012 election cycle with a mixture of cynicism, disgust, dread, hope, promise and hope--once again-- for change.

     That's not going to happen.
     Our eyes are opened now and we are 'still raw' from the Bridgeport 'voter fraud' scandal of the 2010 elections here in the Nutmeg State.
     So while the 'bulk' of the Democratic 'libs' think their day in the sun is a 'lock', that is far from a sure thing this go-round.
     Voters are disappointed and sick and tired of this abysmal economy...and many are totally apathetic.
     In short, 2012 is NOT going to be a repeat of 2008.

Dear Ones:
     I think the President is struggling to find his 'true spiritual center'. He lacks a 'spiritual advisor' as far as the public knows, and his last one was a disaster politically for him.
     I can understand his being 'wary' of such advisors. And I understand him being wary of his/our former affiliation with the United Church of Christ, the UCC. It's a mish-mash of uber 'if it feels good and raises money, let's do it' theology with little accountability to anyone.
     But the UCC did provide a 'platform' for President Obama to deliver his first Presidential campaign speech (his/their words) in June of 2007 in Hartford, CT.
     Trouble is, the UCC is dying on the vine and I don't think they'd take the chance of being accused of 'breaching the line between church and state' again. 
     All things considered, both Mr. Obama and myself are well rid of close association with that group...though I am still, technically, a member and for all we know, he, too, has maintained at least 'associative' status there. 
     Considering the 'kill the white devil' and 'chickens coming home to roost' mentality of Reverend Jeremiah Wright and company, it would be a real shame for our first black president to still be on board with that, don't you think?
      Surely we are all expecting better of him, this President who claims to 'want to unify', than to embrace 'Black Liberation Theology', right?
       It is quite possible that Obama is the 'new and improved President Obama'.  He may actually have had some understanding of how hateful and hurtful his beloved Chicago Trinity Church's teachings are to anyone 'not like they are'.
     It could be our President has morphed.
     If so, he should make amends and 'declare a new spiritual home',based on 'improved counsel'.  Be it church or mosque or a place where both reign (such as the UCC), he really should say so.
      What is there to hide, anyway?
     Obama knows by now that he is bound to anger many, no matter who or what he chooses, the unenviable position for someone who is so high-profile.
     But if the President wishes to remain in his 'high-profile position', he needs to come clean with us regarding the church-dealings/events/venues he used so freely last go-round. 
      Indeed, those pesky 2012 elections are coming up and if Barack Obama hopes to avail himself again of that glorious 'worship bully pulpit', he needs to act and act fast.
     We believers know that at the end of the day, President Obama will be judged just like the rest of us poor slobs, for all he has done and said and not done and left unsaid. 
     Someday he will have to explain how he left the Muslim v. Christian controversy 'float' for so long and what his 'motives' are for doing so.  A simple statement would go a long way Mr. President.
     Alas, we are born alone, we die alone and we will have to account for ourselves--alone.
     It's true.
     So I do pray President Obama has or will have the spiritual discernment to make wise choices for himself and his family with that 'free will' the Good Lord gave him.
     I pray he honors God above all, coming to peace with the uneven and tumultuous cultural and religious exposures he had during his non-traditional childhood.
     Let our President think for himself, as he will be judged for himself. 
     An honest reflection will reveal that the man who 'used' the church to get elected must now live with the consequences and figure out what 'to do' for 2012.
      Me--I left the UCC precisely because I got sick and tired of hearing Progressive Lib Democrat politics literally preached from the pulpit during 'worship'.  It was especially distressful to me since I was a mute on my political standings.  I was a quiet, apolitical moderate-conservative with some liberal social leanings at the time.
     All was fine with me and the UCC until I expressed my opinions.  For such an open and affirming church, they sure live a lie, I quickly learned.
     But oh what a difference an election cycle or two makes!
     Now the 2012 elections are looming.   This is as good a time as any for anyone running for President to declare their true religious affiliations, if any.
      American voters are funny when it comes to their chosen candidates, officials, elections and religion.
      We want them to keep it honest.  We  want them to keep it simple.

     Above is the 'church tradition' I unknowingly aided and abetted as a member of FCC Stamford www.fcc.stamford.org   Note renowned JAMES H. CONE and 'father' of  BLACK LIBERATION THEOLOGY highlighted on the Trinity UCC website of 'retired' REV. JEREMIAH WRIGHT, which is now lead by Rev. Otis Moss.

      Don't be deceived--it's happening all over Connecticut!

     I took the above 'screenshot' today, September 29, 2010.  In my efforts to redeem myself for what I have unknowingly promoted, I present the following here. 

     The UCC I belong to (for 22 years, but now on paper only) is the 'Wright/Obama' Church.  It was not until June of 2007 at Synod 2007 that I realized how DEEPLY 'my church' was into racist politics and I didn't even know it.  All I knew was that we were 'doing good work' at the Soup Kitchen and shelters and elsewhere in the community. 

     Truthfully, for many years, I personally carried much of the load--both as a church member, but mostly individually first as the founder of the "DO NOT WORRY WORKERS", and then with my healing ministry, http://www.dearoneshealingministry.blogspot.com/ .  Until the current Pastor in Stamford, no one was particularly interested in dealing with 'undesireables'--I'll give Cari that.

      But all she--Rev. Cari Jackson-is interested in is black, gay politics.  Worse still, she's one weird promoter of all things Islamic:

      I 'took the heat' for bringing blacks, prostitutes, drug abusers and the mentally ill (as well as those with 'dual diagnoses', i.e. being mentally ill and having substance abuse problems), into the First Congregational Church of Stamford, which is also known as "The Pilgrim Church".

     Nowadays, things are very different, although the Sr. Pastor at FCC likes to 'brag' about 'this church built on a rock'...SHE who was brought in for purely political and fiduciary reasons only the United Church of Christ can truly elaborate upon.

     I attended Synod 2007 in Hartford, CT at the request of FCC Stamford http://www.fccstamford.org/ and was astounded to see and hear then Sen. Barack Obama's FIRST PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN SPEECH at a  CHURCH MEETING IN HARTFORD.

     Everyone in the UCC DENIED IT, of course, but I didn't.

      My intention is to atone for not recognizing and countering the rabid ANTI-NON-BLACK HATRED and RACISM promulgated by the United Church of Christ. 

     And I'm DOING IT through politics.... just as President Obama, the UCC and Rev. Jeremiah Wright have done for it their purposes.

      All I write below...and indeed ALL of my current POLITICAL ACTIVISM is a result of what I saw at Synod 2007 in Hartford.  Please do not dismiss me casually, for I have much to say. 

     As a member of the TEA PARTY PATRIOTS, here is my 'political testimony' regarding Connecticut politics. 

      Please, if any of you have the LEAST interest in fairness and equality for all, PLEASE listen to what I say and do your own homework.

     Our state deserves 'better' than it has now.  Yes, it's political.  God forbid I should bear false witness in my new political venue, but I will continue to speak up against the corruption and injustices I see for all with the current progressive-lib Dem politics.

     I am taking this opportunity to take CT TREASURER DENISE NAPPIER to task and I want her and her supporters to know where I am 'coming from' so that they may rebut appropriately. 

     Let's see how the 'outcast' from Stamford's 'BLACK GAY CHURCH' makes a difference.

Last Thursday, the Danbury chapter of the NAACP held it's annual gala at the Plaza hotel. From those who remember, last year's gala was a memorable event with the key note speaker had a few words to say about mayor and those involved in the racist email scandal (and who can forget Boughton running out of the room after THAT speech). Well, this year, with the economy on the minds of everyone, the NAACP found the perfect speaker who knew a thing or two about the number one issue in America...State Treasurer Denise Nappier.

With it being the end of the election season, the politicians were out in force. Most absent all Republicans running for office...for the exception of Mayor Boughton (who reportedly gave a rather cold shoulder to ARC member/immigrant rights supporter P.J. Leopold while at the table of Ridgefield First Selectman Rudy Marconi...very classy Mark).

      I'm endorsing and voting for JEFF WRIGHT for CONNECTICUT TREASURE and I urge YOU TO DO LIKEWISE. 

    We are BROKE and we need HELP in CT.

     We've had just about as much 'activism' as we can stand in this state....just as we have nationwide with ACORN and voter intimidation.

     Let's get back to remembering what AMERICA stands for FOR ALL AMERICANS....not just the few.

     'Special interest groups' favored by those who attempt to do 'SOCIAL ENGINEERING' through their elected offices don't realize what they are doing to themselves, their causes and their country.

     Keep bashing business and donations will keep disappearing

     I grieve for what is happening in this country.  'My church' (the UCC-United Church of Christ aka the Wright/Obama church) placed itself firmly in the national spotlight by sponsoring, endorsing and campaigning for then-Senator Barack Obama at Synod 2007 in Hartford, CT, which I attended.

     After that experience, I became 'political' for the first time in my life!

    Politics, race, sex, money and religion....NOT A GOOD MIX. 

     We don't need 'ACTIVISTS' to provide us with 'TEACHABLE MOMENTS'. 

     What we need are decent, qualified candidates like JEFF WRIGHT to represent ALL of us no matter what color, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual-preference, age, health, socio-economic status, business sector, wellness group, education level, lifestyle, political-leaning, etc. group or groups we may belong to. 

     Twelve years is long enough for you, Denise Nappier, as CT State Treasurer.  You've made inroads and you can rest on your laurels.  But you need to move on to your next life challenge.

      This is my prayer and I thank God for giving me the STRENGTH to speak as I do.

     This is the first in a series of articles about President Barack Obama 'using' the United Church of Christ (UCC).  I'm going to let you reach your own conclusions about how faithful President Obama is to Christianity and the Muslim faith of his childhood...or to any faith for that matter.  Today, I cannot tell where his heart lies, but I do have these interesting documents to share with you which cover where he was 'at' before and during his presidential campaign.  
     You'll have to enlarge my scans and good luck finding the original postings online.  I only hope that President Obama has come to a place of peace in his own mind, heart, body and soul and that he will be able to share real truth with us.  All I pray for is decency for all people and I do so wish we can work together!
     The following is an admonition and warning to the UCC (United Church of Christ) to be careful way back in 2007 when President Obama used our church Synod 2007 to launch his political campaign.  The warning was well-placed; it turned out that the IRS tried to sue the UCC for conducting political campaign 'stuff' at a big church meeting (Synod 2007).  Nothing came of that law-suit and I do not know from whence it arose.
     I'm not an attorney as many UCC Clergy are (especially black clergy) but I do know that there was a great deal of 'electioneering' and 'politicking' going on at Synod 2007 which I attended as a (reluctant) voting delegate from CT, no matter what anyone says.
     I saw voter sign-up tables and all sorts of Obama campaign activities, all enforced by big black guys from the private sector, plus the Secret Service.  It was a real zoo in Hartford, CT, June 2007 with all the politics.  It broke my heart to learn how political my church was (I was a very timid and quiet moderate-conservative at the time) and  I lost my 'political innocence' that week. 
     Now it's 'in your face' politics and I am sad for it, especially since the perpetrators 'scrubbed and scrub their websites' as necessary.   I also never had experienced that before June 2007.
     My wake-up call came when Jeffrey Lord from 'Politico' contacted me.  I thought he was just a member of the UCC (so politically naive was I) and gave my innermost thoughts to him in email.  Maybe I can find a copy of those thoughts and share them with you.  My only fear is that even I realize what a jerk I was.  
      In any case, on this Holocaust Remembrance Day 2010, I am sick-at-heart that I once supported those who are so anti-Jewish and anti-Semitic.  Like with gay rights and civil rights issues, I fully expect to be disappointed by the UCC, which I am still a member of, technically.  It's at that same Synod 2007 in Hartford President Obama spoke at that the UCC decided to 'tone down' it's pro-Palestinian/anti-Isreal sentiment, with a new 'Resolution'.  Better late than never for Christ's kinsman, I always say.
     Maybe the UCC will  bring back the 'stocks' or I'll be stoned or excommunicated like the good Pilgrim Church (The First Congregational Church of Stamford) gathered in 1635 used to do.  That would be a most appropriate validation of the culture over there.  This is what I get for daring to not be so cooperative, for opening my mouth and for being less generous with my tithing money.  I still love the UCC, the people in it and my country and President, but they're not making it easy.  I guess that's what is meant when it is said that 'it's easy to love one's friends, but not so much one's enemies"...if I had any enemies, that is.
     The good news is that through my trials at church, I did finally hear the call of God.  They'd been telling me for years that "I should go to Seminary" and I said "No".  Now, instead of a fancy ivy-league degree, I am satisfied with the lowest of the low work and it suits me well.  I'll tell you about my Southern sojourn and retreats for God another time, but suffice it to say that all that's transpired suits me very well.
