Dear Ones:
     You might be noting some 'extreme weather' in the form of tornadoes, etc., across the country today...or some 'other' day, for that matter. 
     I just want to point out that this correlates with some unstable 'space weather'...the energy of which is hitting the earth from the sun.
     Overall, our 'sun' is in what we call at a 'Solar Minimum'.  What this means is that while overall sun activity (in the form of solar flares and concurrent x-ray, electrical, proton, radio and other energy forms) occurs less frequently...the 'flare-ups' often stronger when they do occur.

     As I have detailed in my 'Tutorials' (click below), when solar energy from a solar eruption manages to hit our planet, it is manifested in many ways, such as earthquakes, storms, tornadoes, etc. 
     Don't forget that the earth, itself, is the source of energy from down below the earth's crust, all the way down to it's core.  This 'earth energy' can combine with the 'geomagnetic storm energy' from the sun, resulting in earthquakes and the 'geomagnetic storms' of movie fame.
     Sometimes there is a 'lag period' of several days before we 'notice' anything here...and sometimes there is hardly any lag period at all.  Many factors enter into play, as you will learn.

     Be sure to check NOAA's "Current Space Weather Warnings in effect" if you detect some foul weather coming your way so that you can judge for yourself how intense the activity might be for you and your loved ones locally.

You know what the above NOAA warnings chart means? It means you should look up at the sky tonight and tomorrow for a potential light show known as the 'aurora borealis' aka 'northern lights'.


There's been a massive CME (coronal mass ejection). This means that all the solar Tutorials I've tortured you with (if you played along) these many months have not been for naught. YOU will be able to astound your family and friends with your knowledge of a new solar 'age', a new 'solar cycle', if you will : )


You, dear students,  will be able to describe geomagnetic storms with the best of them!  For anyone who would like some refresher courses or to just be tortured by Rev. Barb's 'Tutorials' (list below and on right) for the FIRST TIME, just click on something and read away.

Why not see if you can find correlations yourself between what's happening on the sun and what's happening on earth. For now, weather on earth will be wild as we experience the effects of geomagnetic and other disturbances from the sun.

     Just so you know, some in the space science community believe that we have entered a 'new solar cycle' of increased energy in, on, about and from the sun.   All of this has the potential to, and will likely, affect us here on earth.

     We're talking about a billion+ tons of plasma here.  Our friends at  http://www.spaceweather.com/  tell us that "Moon-sized fragments of plasma splash brightly when they land back on the sun's surface". 
     But there's only one problem: not all of that plasma IS falling back DOWN as it should.  With 13 consecutive days of no sunspots, we could be due for a major SOLAR ENERGY situation, especially since--as noted above--that darn plasma is just not 'falling back down to the sun'. 
     BAD PLASMA...BAD PLASMA!!!

April 27, 2010: Just last week, scientists working with NASA's new Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) released the most astonishing movies of the sun anyone had ever seen. Now, they're doing it again. "SDO has just observed a massive eruption on the sun—one of the biggest in years," says Lika Guhathakurta of NASA headquarters in Washington DC.
     The NASA article goes on:
Coronal rain has long been a mystery. It's not surprising that plasma should fall back to the sun. After all, the sun's gravity is powerful. The puzzle of coronal rain is how slowly it seems to fall. "The sun's gravity should be pulling the material down much faster than it actually moves. What's slowing the descent?" he wonders.

For the first time, SDO provides an answer.
"The rain appears to be buoyed by a 'cushion' of hot gas," says Schrijver. "Previous observatories couldn't see it, but it is there."
     Isn't that lovely?  The article goes on to say:
Dick Fisher, the head of NASA's Heliophysics Division in Washington DC, has been working in solar physics for nearly forty years. "In all that time," he says, "I've never seen images like this. I wonder, what will next week bring?"

Dear "Dear Ones" Tutorial 'Sufferers':
     Well, if you've kept up with my recent TUTORIALS about solar events affecting things here on earth...this will be a welcome relief for you.  Specifically, I have finally found some articles discussing this very phenomenon regarding Toyota acceleration/braking failures.  Finally 'real astrophysicists' and 'automotive engineers' will, hopefully, be pursuing this further and it will interesting to see how valid my 'pet theories' have been.  I know my family and friends will rejoice the day that I stop going on about solar/earth events day after day.
     Recently The Stamford Advocate  ran an article http://www.stamfordadvocate.com/news/article/Stamford-mother-files-federal-complaint-against-436483.php  on a grieving mom Barbara Green http://toyotacauseofdeath.com/comment-page-1/#comment-6  who is convinced her son's death was NOT solely due to his driving, but that the Solara Toyota he was driving was somehow at fault.  I will be publishing solar/earth data for the crash date in question Dec 1-2, 2006 here, with the hope that this information will be of use to her somehow.  I'll shoot my findings 'out into the ethers of cyberspace' and see if any of it 'sticks, starting with the graph below.  I will be amazed if someone with clout doesn't put two and two together with Toyota computer chip error manifesting as a result of solar energy interference and bombardment...but anything is possible, of course.  Check out the space weather 'Alerts & Warnings' page for Dec 2006 here.  Just know that the days leading up to a series of major readings is always frought with sudden 'bursts' here and there which NOAA calls "SUDDEN IMPULSE WARNINGS" (gold bars)

Tsunami-like blast wave rips across the Sun

A blast wave swept across the face of the Sun on Wednesday, rippling outward from the site of a large solar flare. Blast waves that spread all the way across the Sun like this one did are rare, especially when the Sun is in the quiet phase of its 11-year cycle, as it is right now.
The wave was imaged by the Optical Solar Patrol Network telescope at the National Solar Observatory (NSO) in Sunspot, New Mexico, US. Watch a video of the expanding blast wave. The wave compresses and heats the solar plasma as it passes, causing it to brighten.
The wave raced outwards from the site of the flare at 400 kilometres per second, says K S Balasubramaniam of NSO. It occurred near one edge of the Sun's face and traveled to the other edge in about 30 minutes, he says.
This was the second major flare from the same group of sunspots. Another flare spewed out from the group on Tuesday. The fact that this region of the Sun spewed out two major flares just a day apart "implies that there must have been some kind of tremendous energy buildup", Balasubramaniam told New Scientist.
The buildup of energy is thought to be related to the twisting of the Sun's magnetic field. Such a large buildup and release of energy on the Sun is a rare occurrence, and especially unusual around solar minimum, when the Sun is normally at its quietest. Of course there is nothing even remotely amusing and joke-worthy about a deadly electromotive phenomenon and a car manufacturer who fails to address what they may know very well is a deadly quality control problem.

Dear Ones:

     Perhaps you are wondering what is happening in the USA regarding the violent, unpredictable weather.  You are probably being told that this is all 'perfectly normal', 'part of a normal cycle', 'is the result of global warming', 'is the result of the lie of global warming' or something similar or even totally unique.  Here is the truth:
     As I write this, the sun is actively 'erupting'.  One of the areas of activity is 1057 (11057), with class eruptions--in order of most violent to least, in terms of the 'class of flares'--that is about as high as I have seen since I've started my Tutorials for you. (Note: in the search bar at the top of the page, type in 'Tutorial' for my earlier articles). 
     For those who have been following along, here are the probabilities for various class flares on/from the sun which will emit energy which will eventually hit earth and wreak all sorts of havoc:

     Over the past weeks and right now, there is a great deal of 'solar wind' activity (the throwing 'off' of solar energy into space, some of which is directed towards and 'hits' earth). Link:  http://www.visi.com/~brainiac/solar  
     The visual manifestation of the sun's energy hitting earth is manifested in what is known as the 'hemisperic auroral power input' and measurements of it have been very high lately...as high a 8.0, in fact, on a scale of 1.0-10.0.  Maybe you've seen pictures of or witness "Northern Lights", the 'Aurora Borealis'.

     Also, at present, I have observed that the mid-elevation risk of even severe geomagnetic storms by percentage is as high as ever with each burst of solar activity.  I've already discussed what geomagnetic storms are previously.  For now, you need to be on the look-out for interrupted radio transmissions, cable and computer problems, electric arcing and shocking near electrical equipment and all sorts of communication's failure. 
     I believe that the disturbed electrical atmosphere of earth is contributing to the sporatic reports of Toyota software and hardware 'glitches', which have lead to accelerator and braking failures.  Without getting too technical here, many apparently 'random' or 'sporatic' events are occurring and will continue to occur as long as solar activity remains high.
     Why no one else is speaking of this, I do not know.  But here is what is a the crux of the situation: Energy coming from the sun and hitting the earth is one thing.  But we have to consider that the earth, itself, is also releasing mass amounts of energy to the surface.  This earth-derived energy manifests as everything from tornadoes, highs/lows, electrical phenomena (lightning, etc), magnetic variations to earthquake and volcanic activity, both on land and under the sea (for the latter two). 
     In simple terms: the sun-derived energy COMBINES with the earth-derived energy and we are seeing the results of these combinations everyday in the news of the world.  Obviously, things have 'ratcheted up', activity/disaster-wise and it is really something that no human can completely understand, let alone predict. 
     Still, these things bear watching.
     And as if to completely add confusion to the mix, I want to bring something else to your attention.  We all know that 'what lies beneath' matters when it comes to predicting natural disasters like earthquakes and volcanoes, amongst other things.  But what most people do not consider is the character of the substrate under our feet, meaning, what is the earth below actually composed of?
     Here are some examples by way of illustrating the point I am next trying to make: We all know that copper is a good conductor of electricity.  So what do you think would happen to someone standing barefoot in a moist 'copper-rich' area during, say, a lightning strike, as opposed to someone standing in a relatively non-conductive area wearing rubber boots?
     Right, the first guy would get a much greater 'jolt', with all other things being equal.  Now here's a question I want to ask you and leave with you to reflect upon...
     Ever hear about 'silicon valley'?  Yes, you have.  Silicon valley is the vernacular for the home or hub of all-things related to computers.  Silicon is an interesting element.  It has a valence of 4, just like carbon does.  In fact, science fiction writers as well as bona fide scientists have postulated the existence of silicon-based life forms in the universe, as opposed to our more familiar carbon-based ones here on earth. 
     Silicon is the most abundant mineral in the universe.  In mineral form, we find it in things like crystalline quartz ( a different discussion for another day).  And it just so happens that silicon deposits are found under some very interesting places on earth, including, but not limited to, the Bermuda triangle, where all sorts of geomagnetic/weather aberrations are known to occur frequently.  It is interesting to note that there is an underwater volcano in the Bermuda Triangle which emits....you guessed it...loads of silicon-laden eruptive flow.
     So I will leave you dear readers with the following--the energy from the sun is hitting and affecting the earth.  It is hitting some very 'already geologically active' areas and when those areas have a substrate such as silicon or something metallic or metalloid, the natural weather/disaster phenomena generated are severely exaggerated.
     This is why the natural disasters of today seem to be so much more frequent and severe. 
     As a Christian believer, I know God's will is being done on earth and I am content to know that.  That doesn't mean that I am not scared sometimes or that I don't want to try to understand things on a scientific level.  This is okay as long as I don't overdo it.  I certainly don't want to frighten anyone (anymore than they already are if they have suffered at the hands of recent events, that is).  I merely want to share what I know with you.
     As always, I say that if you don't know the Lord, this is a good and easy way to start!  Start by doing some 'scientific research' and find out where human intellect fails to answer questions.  I once had a cartoon in my lab of a mathematician at a chalkboard writing out a long, detailed, complex solution to a lengthy equation.  One line of his 'proof' included the phrase "....and then God steps in"
     At the time, as an atheist/agnostic myself, worshiping at the bench of science, I thought that was very clever.  But even then, I felt there was more than a 'kernel of truth' in the construct of that  mathematical cartoon.
     Nowadays, I know the 'God factor' is what we would all do well to come to know, accept and appreciate for it's Genius.  It will be interesting to see if the non-believing intellectuals of the world will be open-minded enough to expand their understandings to accept a Divine Power greater than themselves.
     The way things are playing out in the world today, pure intellectualism is turning out to be something of an antiquated mindset.  The 'Age of Enlightment' for mankind is coming full circle and we are privileged to be a part of this remarkable time in history.
