Dear Ones:
     Yes, the various images of the sun have been quite spectacular lately.
     Some might even call them 'beautiful', but only in the context of 'beautiful, but daunting'.
     The image above is but a minuscule reflection of the violent and tumultuous universe around us--a universe which, once in a while commands our attention, as it does today.
     Recent NOAA 'Space Warnings' pages have been rift with all sorts of bar, colors, stars and blurts, the likes of which we do not often see all at the same time.

     Surely most of us know by now that 'something's up' because even the popular media has picked up on 'news of the sun'.  We ALL want to know what is going on. 
     Well, for a while now, I've been providing space weather 'Tutorials' in an effort to prepare readers for what we are now witnessing.
     Just click on the keyword 'Tutorials' below and you can easily bring yourselves up-to-date.

     Considering that things will be ratcheting up to a solar activity crescendo sometime in 2014, it might be worth your while to save as reference the links and information I have posted for you here over the past few years.

     What we are witnessing now is the result of a so-called 'solar minimum', wherein the sun's activity becomes 'dimished' overall, on the large-scale of things.
     But, when the sun DOES erupt, the 'show' is more profound than it would be during a 'normal cycle'.  
     Experts tell us that 'solar minimums' come around every one hundred years, or so.

     As such, satellite transmissions will be affected/disrupted due to the increased 'proton storm activity' as charted below due to solar activity right now:

     Dolphins and other creatures whose navigating systems are dependent upon a 'constant, reliable earth's magnetic field' are being beached and otherwise detoured.
     I suspect that migrating birds and other species will also exhibit atypical behaviors and patterns, as well.
     The reason for this is that our planets magnetic field has been 'jogged', but good, as a result of all the solar energy affecting not only the earth's atmosphere, but the earth, itself, as well:

     Additionally, radiation levels at high altitudes will be higher than normal, to the point that air travel patterns will be altered.
     Radio 'bursts' will affect our radio transmissions.  We can expect interruptions in cell phone and computer services.
     And finally, we must prepare ourselves for extremes of weather on earth due to the impact of all this on-going solar flare energy on planet earth.
     Just how this will manifest is not always predictable and we cannot always specifically know, although educated guesses can be made.
     We would do well to be on the lookout for volcanic, tornadic, tsunamic, and seismic activity, most likely coupled with fierce rain, snow, wind, flooding, dust and other weather-related 'events'.
     Below is a 'look' at solar 'wind' at the present time.  You should be aware that there is always a lag-period of from 2-5 days (approx.) between the time energy-in all of it's manifestations--'flares' off the sun, and the moment when it impacts the earth's atmosphere and then earth, itself.

Mayor Calls for Partial Evacuation of City and Issues Curfew for City Streets

Saturday, August 27, 1011, 6:30 PM, Stamford
Mayor Michael Pavia met at 6:00 P.M. this evening with all City and operations emergency personnel.

“Because wind gusts may exceed 75 mph, I am issuing a curfew of all non-essential, non-emergency vehicular and pedestrian traffic from City streets effective 6:00 A.M. Sunday morning, until further notice,” declared the Mayor. “We are closely monitoring this storm for severe weather and unsafe conditions. We urge our residents to use extreme caution and stay at home.”

Earlier today, Mayor announced a mandatory evacuation of areas that are most vulnerable to flooding. “Due to expected high tides, storm surges, and heavy rains, I am advising anyone that lives in a low-lying area or along river flood plain areas, to relocate to higher ground,” the Mayor stated.

Residents who live on the following streets are reminded to evacuate their homes and move to higher ground. Those streets are as follows:

Sea Beach Drive (#76 and above, even numbers only)

Saddle Rock Road

Rogers Road (#49 and above)

Ralsey Road South (#1 through #37, odd numbers only)

Downs Ave. (#111 through #142)

Ralph Street (#9 and #15)

Dolphin Cove Quay (#160 and above)

Kennilworth Drive West (#73 through #95)

Weed Ave. (Weed Circle, #195 through #225)

Residents should make arrangements with family, friends or other accommodations. If none of those options are available to you, the City has opened a shelter at Stamford High School, located at 55 Strawberry Hill Ave. at 5:00 PM.

Please bring any necessary medications, toiletries and bed linens you will need with you. Shelters are pet-friendly, however all animals must have their vaccinations up to date (tags or paperwork) and must be crated. Please bring food and medicine for your pets.

If necessary, additional shelters will open and be announced on the City’s website: www.cityofstamford.org and on Twitter @cityofstamford. Emergency workers at Stamford HS will direct evacuees to additional shelters, if necessary.

     Oh, my.  And here we 'arrogant humans' like to think we can 'second-guess' the Great Designer when it comes to things of 'global proportion'!
     In fact, our 'arrogance' is one of the reasons that some 'fatuous' global-warming theories...that is, that man, himself, is capable of causing massive glacier melt and the like all by his lonesome...are so patently absurd.
     And even more absurd is the liberal Greenie allegation that MANKIND is responsible for the Japan earthquake!
     AS IF!
     But back to this surprise article:

Dear Ones:
     I am sorry to tell you that the 'space weather' affecting earth right now is worsening.
     Let me tell you, this is the last thing we need with the obvious destabilization of the earth's crust currently taking place.
     Above is a graph of the Kp planetary index, which is a reflection of the energy impacting the earth from the sun.
     I had hoped that solar activity would either lessen or stabilize, but this is not to be the case.

     In view of Japan's crumbling nuclear facilities, the last thing this area needs--as well as the rest of the earth where radioactive fallout from Japan will end up--is additional radiation from the sun.

     Yes, this all affects the stability of the earth's crust, as does all energy hitting the earth from the sun.

     Another 'factor' affecting the earth's 'stability' is proton emission from the sun affecting the earth.

Dear Ones:
      When it comes to 'predicting things about the world', humans are as accurate as believers can be when it comes to predicting the 'timeline' regarding 'end times'--meaning not very.
      Still, we like to think we can 'know'.
      But the Lord tells us very explicitly:
The Demand for a Sign
1 The Pharisees and Sadducees came to Jesus and tested him by asking him to show them a sign from heaven.
2 He replied, “When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’ 3 and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.[a] 4 A wicked and adulterous generation looks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.” Jesus then left them and went away.      The passage above would tell us that while humans can glean the weather from various indicators, we are not to presume to understand God's 'Timeline' for us, plain and simple.
     So let's stick here with what we have been blessed to reasonably understand from 'observation, data collection, analysis and interpretation', i.e. from 'science'...and let God 'speak to our hearts' on other matters!
     The sun has been undergoing a week of instability.  In fact, it is unusually 'active' and the energy thrown off by the sun is currently, meaning 'now', affecting the earth in profound ways.
     These profound ways include the possibilities of severe weather with winds, rain, hail, tornadoes, lightning, thunder, mudslides, wildfires and the like.
     The sun in it's instability is also generating a great deal of 'magnetic field energy' which manifests itself on and in the earth, as well as in 'space'.

     Those of you who have been following along with my 'Tutorials' (click on this keyword below) realize that a solar situation such as this is a sure set-up for unstable earth weather.

     And, unfortunately for those places like ARKANSAS which has been experiencing a great number of earthquakes recently, this is a time to be vigilant.

     Note that at this time as this is being published, the arrow indicating the direction this energy is 'taking' is currently directed towards the Northeast of the United States.

     Shortly, it will be directed towards OHIO, thus intensifying whatever severe weather and geophysical events are occurring there.

     I urge those in 'danger areas' to be aware of the dynamics in play here.   Please get yourselves and your loved ones to safety, as needed.

     Unfortunately, your local public safety officials will not necessarily be forthcoming with the information I am presenting here, if they have any access to it at all.

     Also, there is a large group of 'thinkers' who do not yet recognize the correlation between GEOMAGNETIC STORMS, such as the one we are experiencing the effects of today, and 'everyday' earth weather and geophysical disturbances.

     OHIO and ARKANSAS today in the U.S.A. should pay heed, as well as those all over the globe in problem areas.

Dear Ones:
     Yes, there have been an inordinate number of recognizable and 'noticeable' earthquakes in Arkansas over the last 24 hours or so.
     Yesterday I wrote about a Geomagnetic Storm expected to be here Feb 17-19.  As I have described many times before, seismic activity is correlated to 'space weather'. 
     Simply put, the 'energy' in its various forms which is hitting the earth from the sun manifests here in the form of severe weather (severe storms) with the potential for tornadoes, lightning, thunder, flooding, tsunamis, volcanic activity, seismic activity and more.
     This collection of events is collectively known as 'Geomagnetic Storms', more or less, depending upon who is doing the 'defining'--a meterologist or an astrophysicist, that is.
     Still, it's actually all the same as far as we are concerned.
     Recently, the sun erupted with a rare 'X-Class' solar flare, with two attendant CME's (Coronal Mass Ejections).

     In terms of electrical phenomena, we see 'auroras' ('Northern Lights') at lower latitudes and can experience electrical, power grid and voltage fluctuations.
     Satellite functioning and transmission can be interrupted or terminated temporarily.
     Radio transmissions can be disrupted and the earth can be subjected to 'waves' of all sorts of ionizing radiation.
     Communication can be severely disrupted.
     In a 'nutshell', energy from a set of recent solar events, including the 'x-class flare' and CME's disturb the earth's magnetic field, resulting in affecting seismic activity to one degree or another.
     THIS is why Arkansas is acting up.

     You will note that while the magnitudes are relatively small, they are also relatively 'shallow'. 
     As a rule, 'the shallower the quake, the more it is felt at the surface', even with a lower-magnitude earthquake.

Dear Ones:
     This is not intended to scare you, but recently the sun erupted with a very large, powerful 'Class X' solar flare.  As I write and you read this, energy from the sun is hurling towards earth...Energy which will precipitate what is known as a 'Geomagnetic Storm'.
     NOAA's scale for  Geomagnetic Storms can be found here: http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/NOAAscales/index.html 
     Do you see that green bar on the graph above?  That indicates that the expected date of the 'storm's' arrival is somewhere around Feb 18-20.
     I say, be aware of the possibility of sooner activity on earth starting now and take care if you live in 'danger areas' prone to earthquakes, flooding, volcanic activity and the like.
     (It is just my opinion that NOAA and NASA's timing predictions are often a little late, for what it's worth.)
     I pray not much comes of this, but we are currently in a period of 'Solar Minimum' which means that solar activity is (theoretically) fewer and far between, but more intense when the sun DOES act up.

     All Geomagnetic storms are not considered equal, because different kinds of energy can manifest in different storms or even within the same storm at different or the same time.

     To illustrate this, look at the graph below which is a graph of the 'Planetary K Index' (the Kp Index), which is an index by which geomagnetic storms are measured.

     The above graph is also correlated to 'aurora activity' in the northern hemisphere.  The rule is, generally, the higher the Kp index, the more brilliant the auroras sighted.

     'The Observed Hemispheric Auroral Power Input' is the 1-10 scale on which auroral power input (i.e. the energy hitting the earth from the sun) is measured.

     A quick examination of the 'Warnings' Chart on the top of this page reveals that we are to expect a Geomagnetic Storm on earth with potentially many or ALL the types of energy known to emanate from the sun, which can impact earth.

     This includes ionizing radiation such as x-rays, gamma rays, UV rays....as well as radio waves, electrical energy plus proton energy which we will take a look at below.

     Now, this 'proton flux' elevation is not good.  In fact, since I've started my Tutorials here (click on index keyword 'Tutorials' at the bottom of this article), I haven't seen a fluctuation such as this.

     (But then again, I don't follow space weather for a living, but only discuss it when it has Biblical  relevence, when there are safety concerns for the people of the world and when scientific curiosity piques my interest.)

      The bottom-line is that the expected Geomagnetic Storm will produce severe weather events and likely earth-based movements, eruptions and disruptions.

     According to our friends at NOAA, once again:

     There could be radio black-outs, radiation showers, unstable weather with tornadoes and, as I've discussed in my Tutorials, attendant earthquakes and the like.
     It is not routinely discussed for some reason, but Geomagnetic Storms affect the earth's magnetic field.  THIS is what prompts seismic, volcanic and other 'inner earth-related' movement, often with powerful effect, in case you didn't realize this, along with severe weather.

     As I said, there's no need to panic, but do check these links and here for further updates.
     Of course, our 'measuring, warning and communication' systems are dependent upon satellites, but solar energy (see proton map) can 'knock out', block, or 'black-out' satellites and their signals.
     So, as ever, real-time observations by trained meteorologists, astronomers, and nerds of all sorts will be as necessary as ever.

Dear Ones:
     Recently there has been a great deal of 'space weather' (solar activity, more specifically) which is affecting the earth.  The energy from the sun 'affects' us in the form of earthquakes, among other things, and a preliminary magnitude earthquake of 7.5 has hit Indonesia.
     Given that the USGS (U.S. Geological Survey) has determined a 'depth' of 14.2 km, this is a quake which could produce tsunami problems.  In general, the 'shallower the quake', the worse the surface damage.

     There have also been powerful tornados and storms in Texas today...not surprising when we look at a map of the Kp (planetary Kp index, that is) which is a reflection of the energy hitting the earth which manifests itself as a 'geomagnetic storm'.

Dear Ones:
     By now, you know from general news reports that something's going on in earth's upper atmosphere, not to mention on the sun, itself.  You can bring yourself up-to-date by looking at my series of 'TUTORIALS' listed below and at the right.
     But what may not be as obvious and IS NOT YET MENTIONED IN THE PRESS...is the fact that SEISMIC ACITIVITY all over the world is UP.  There are a great number of earthquakes at this time, although I am not sure if anyone else will be acknowledging this.

     For persons of faith and for those who doubt or disbelieve, here is some information that you should bear in mind for future reference:
