DARIEN -- A day-long search for a missing Darien teen ended at about 11:15 Monday night, when police say a family member found 16-year-old Zachary Gallo on Hope Street in Stamford.

Darien, Stamford and Norwalk police had been searching since early Monday morning for Gallo, who has autism and left his Hoyt Street home late Sunday night.

Sgt. Jeremiah Marron, a Darien Police Department spokesman, said Gallo was unharmed and in good physical condition when found by the family member, who he said was in from out of town.

Marron said police do not suspect foul play, but the incident remains under investigation by the Darien Police Youth Division.

Lt. Ronald Bussell, who leads the town's detective bureau, said Monday that the department and others searched the town's 13 square miles without finding Gallo earlier in the day.

Gallo, of 103 Hoyt St., was reported missing at 7 a.m.Monday after he was last seen between 11 and 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

A police source said the boy left a note for his parents saying he wanted to harm himself. In the note, the boy said he was heading for The Cove.

On Monday, Norwalk police sent a team of officers and a police dog, who unsuccessfully tried to run a track on the boy near St. John's Cemetery, near the boy's home.

Stamford police Capt. William Mullin said Stamford Marine Police had also undertaken a search for the boy.

Police said Gallo left his cell phone at his home and was unable to be contacted on Monday.

Police have released a photo of Zachary Gallo, pictured at right.
"We have reason to believe that Zach is potentially an endangered at-risk individual," Darien police Capt. Fred Komm said in an email Monday. (Note from Rev. Barb: it has now been disclosed that Zach has autism.)
Police are seeking the public's help in locating missing teenager Zachary Gallo, 16, of Darien.
Gallo is described as white, 5 feet 8 inches tall, and 185 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes. Police said he is known to wear his hair slicked back and his jeans rolled up to his ankles.
The teenager was last seen by his parents between 11 and 11:30 p.m. Sunday at their Hoyt Street residence, police said. He was reported missing around 7 a.m. Monday.
Gallo reportedly left his cell phone at home.
"Exhaustive efforts have been made by this department and others to locate this young man," said Lt. Thomas Krois, including patrols and K-9 searches of the area. Stamford and Norwalk police were among the agencies participating in the search.
Gallo attends school at Cooperative Educational Services in Trumbull. Krois said Gallo's interests did not point to an obvious destination for the teenager.
Anyone who sees Gallo or has information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Darien Police Department immediately at 203-662-5301.

Please, we pray that Zachary be safe & brought back into the embrace of his loving family.
Impel all in SW CT and elsewhere to actively search for this precious child, that he be brought back home, well and unharmed.
Lord have mercy and see that this 16-yr-old be returned to safety and quell the fears of parents everywhere who live in dread of the loss of a child in situations like this.
Embolden us to act definitively, reminding us that we are not on this earth alone, for our brothers and sisters and their children are here, too!
We pray these things in the name of Your Precious Son Jesus Christ.
And we ask our Savior's Mother Mary to intercede at this moment...she who taught us that 'all life is precious'...she who never ignores the righteous pleas of mothers and their children.

The unfortunate result will be an acceleration of jobs and taxpayers leaving Connecticut. Please forward it to any friends whom are interested in knowing what is really going-on in Hartford.

June 12, 2011 Tom Foley: Outdated policies invite a Connecticut crash The New London Day By TOM FOLEY When a test pilot takes an airplane on a risky test flight, it isn't legal to bring along passengers. Not so in Connecticut politics. Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and our Democrat-controlled legislature recently passed a budget that is a reckless experiment equivalent to a test flight in a poorly designed airplane - with all of Connecticut's citizens aboard for the ride. While the federal government and every other state recognizes the broadly held policy consensus that voters want to hold the line on taxes and reduce spending, Connecticut's political leadership is stuck in a retro-policy world reminiscent of the 1960s. During the legislative session 1960s-era dogma and political pay-offs triumphed over common sense and good policy. It isn't amusing watching Connecticut adopt policy more evocative of Havana or Caracas than Shanghai or Mumbai. We are moving backward rather than forward and Connecticut's citizens will pay a big price. The world has come a long way since the 1960s. People actually believed then that more government would solve problems and steeply progressive income taxes would make a more equitable society. Most policymakers and voters now realize that there are limits to what government can do well and that, past a point, more government merely smothers private sector economic activity, slows income growth, and reduces private sector employment. Connecticut arrived at that point some time ago. We also now know that taxing people excessively doesn't make society more equitable, it just drives away ever-more mobile taxpayers and jobs, reducing everyone's income and opportunities. Because politicians and voters in the 1960s believed we could tax and spend our way out of our problems, politicians saw no need to hide what they were up to. That is not the case today. Gov. Malloy and Democrats in the legislature deceptively describe their budget as "sharing sacrifice," "reducing spending," and wringing "give-backs" out of state workers. Baloney. The facts are clear and simple. Spending in the general fund is budgeted to go up next fiscal year by over $450 million, an increase of 2.5 percent over this year. The governor's "deal" with state workers' unions includes no reduction in either the number of state workers or the overall cost of the state workforce. Gov. Malloy and the Democratic majority are closing this entire budget deficit with increased taxes amounting to more than $2.5 billion. These big tax increases will raise Connecticut's already high cost of living. Most of the increase in taxes will fall on middle-income households. Connecticut households in 2013 will pay on average more than $2,000 more in state taxes than they did last year. With average household income at $68,000, Connecticut's middle-income families will have to again cut back spending to meet their heavy new tax burden, further hurting an already weak economy. What will be the effect of this disastrous policy, other than the hardship and additional belt tightening imposed on Connecticut's citizens? The most damaging outcome will be an accelerating flight of our tax base and jobs. Connecticut is already unaffordable for many families and businesses. Rather than reducing the cost of living, the recently passed budget will both raise the cost of living and the cost of employing people. People and businesses that can leave the state will. Others who might have come here won't. Connecticut has the worst job creation record in the nation. You would think that after their dismal performance creating jobs, our politicians would be reluctant to keep pursuing the same shopworn and ineffective policies. Instead, they are stepping even harder on the accelerator, like the impulsive gambler who after losing a lot of money just keeps doubling down on the same bet. Connecticut is conspicuously alone in its "damn the torpedoes" strategy of raising taxes and doing nothing serious to rein-in spending. In New York, where Democrats also hold the governorship and control the legislature, Gov. Andrew Cuomo has pledged to reduce spending next year by 5 percent, reduce the size of the state work force by more than 10,000 people, and not raise taxes. Like a family that lived too well in the good times, Connecticut has to adjust to current economic reality. That is why when running for governor I pledged not to raise taxes and focus instead on wisely and equitably reducing spending. This policy direction doesn't originate in ideology or politics. It is simply the right thing to do and plain enough for political leaders on both sides of the aisle to recognize most everywhere, except in Connecticut. The current administration's failure to recognize the need for a change in direction will only dig the state into a deeper hole. The only good news in this confounding story is that voters seem to know they are being had. The deceptive messaging isn't working. Everything in Hartford seems too clever by half. Some think the budget doesn't reflect a policy at all, but rather an odd and un-Connecticut introduction of 1930s' style "take care of your friends" urban ward politics. Whatever it is, Connecticut isn't happy. A new poll found 71 percent of voters viewed Gov. Cuomo's policies favorably, while the most recent Quinnipiac University poll showed Gov. Malloy's rating in the mid-30s. It isn't fair that this administration is taking Connecticut's citizens for a risky ride with discredited policies perpetrated by out-of-touch politicians. If you are planning to stick around for the test flight, I suggest you fasten your seatbelt. It is going to be a bumpy ride until our leaders get in tune with the 21st century - or voters replace them with leaders who are. 5 p.m. Police Parade through Downtown Stamford — The events will kick off at 5 p.m. at Veterans Park (Bank and Atlantic Streets) with a police parade down Bedford Street through downtown Stamford. It will include mounted, motorcycle and K9 units, an armored police personal carrier, honor guards including each of the states’ represented and police pipe and drum bands from throughout the region.  It will end in front of the Stamford Police Dept at 805 Bedford Street.

6 p.m. Police Memorial Ceremony – A Police Memorial will take place outside of Stamford Police Headquarters at Bedford & Hoyt Streets where the names of police officers killed in the line of duty will be read aloud, along with remarks from law enforcement dignitaries, playing of TAPS, a 21 Gun Salute and a military flyover by the Connecticut National Guard.  Speakers will include: Mayor Michael Pavia, Stamford Police Chief Bob Nivakoff and city Police Officer Richard Casparino, who was wounded in the line of duty.

7 p.m. Police Fund Raiser for Killed in the Line of Duty Fund – Following completion of ceremonies Stamford Police ‘Killed in the Line of Duty Endowment Fund’ will host a fund raiser which is open to the public. For a $5 or greater donation each attendee will be provided Hamburgers and Hot Dogs. Six downtown Stamford establishments co-hosting the police memorial after party fund raising will be offering drink specials to attendees. Dear God:


Please hear this prayer from the American people for our Japanese brothers and sisters.


At this time we come to you as your children around the world, fully united in our faith in you.


We pray for those who suffer and weep at the grievous losses in Japan.


Have mercy on this great Nation, with whom the USA  has not always had a peaceful co-existence.


Fully unite us now as never before, Heavenly Father, in the forgiveness, reconciliation, love and respect that has grown between us, in a mission to provide for those most in need at this time with aid and comfort.


And let no other Nations on earth turn their backs on the Japanese people in their distress, we ask of you Lord,  our Creator who controls all of Heaven and earth.


Please cut short the days of woe and misery for our friends overseas, that they may be restored to a moment of calm in order to properly mourn their dead.

"A Prayer For Someone In Need Of A Liver Transplant-Please Pray With Me Right Now For Jessica Maranelli" By Reverend Barbara Sexton 'Dear Ones Healing Ministry'

Dear Ones:
     On this first day of Lent, I received this urgent PRAYER REQUEST.  (Note: Jessica is Lisa Prizio's niece) 

Dear Friends

John & Cindy Maranelli's daughter Jessica was rushed to Columbia Children's

Hospital tonight. The Doctors there determined her liver has stopped functioning.

She will need a liver transplant ASAP to survive. Please pray for God's will to be done.

Please pray that through this pain God's Glory will be revealed to all. Please pray our

Lord will spare her life and heal her body.

Thank you in advance for all your urgently needed prayers.

From Rev. Barb-Please pray with me:

Lord God, we enter this Lenten Season and we remember Jesus's forty days in the wilderness.

We are in our 'own' wilderness now and we come to you with prayers for your child Jessica Maranelli and her parents John and Cindy and their friends and family.

Please have mercy on them, dear Father.

Please heal this teen with the gift of life and end her suffering.

We pray that she may live a complete and happy life, doing all good works in your Name.

We pray that she may be as a 'living testimony' to your Goodness and Faithfulness, even as we realize that short of a miracle, a gift for Jessica can only result from the loss of the earthly life of another.

To that end, we pray not solely for the Maranellis, but also for the 'donor family' we may yet meet and thank for their incredible love in the face of incredible loss.

Today we 'fear' when we should not, and we are 'tempted' in our weakness at this time and so we pray actually for 'that miracle cure', if it be Your Will, so that none must lose their earthly lives.

Absent your sudden Intervention this way, we are content to know that Jessica and all those who suffer acutely need only know the Promise you assure us of when we are 'transplanted' to Eternal Life...

In that Life we are free of all sadness and pain, after lives well-lived here and lessons learned through our Creator,

When our 'work here' is completed, we look forward to an Eternal Life reunited with our loved ones, fully restored to a 'perfect health', thanks to You alone...

And we thank you for the Promises you make to us, dear Lord.

We are faithful and we love you for them, even as we ask you to bless Jessica's doctors, surgeons and health care advisers in all their endeavors to save her life.

     Make no mistake about it, prostitution has always been with us and is likely 'here to stay'.

     In fact, the Bible, itself, is rift with mention of this profession in it's various incarnations:
--sometimes redemptively 'flattering' as in the story of God-fearing 'Rahab', the brave prostitute who hid and helped two Israelis spying in Jericho escape with their lives

     Of course, other prostitutes, concubines, sex slaves and all sorts of sexual activities are elaborated upon in Scripture (listen up you who think the Bible is all irrelevant and boring ramblings of stern old men!).
     In fact, Biblical stories of 'fallen women' are a very powerful reflection of the realities of life of earth...in times past, currently, as well as in the future.
     To write the 'Good Book' off as 'mere arcane and imaginary writings' (as I once did for the first 37 years of my life as a proud atheist/agnostic) is to do it a great injustice.  (Note: You OWE IT to yourself to read the Bible NOW, if you never have before!)
     But I digress....
     Back to the surprising 'stance' of the uber-liberal Harry Reid, I stand with those who simply cannot believe that 'Prince Harry', as Tea Party Patriots call him, is SO up-in-arms about the legal prostitution business in Nevada.
     It boggles the mind that Progressive Lib Dem Harry Reid is actually BLAMING Nevada's financial woes on the 'world's oldest profession'.
     Not only is it 'counter-intuitive', but it smacks of the kind of perverse 'self-righteousness' exhibited by those who consider themselves to be totally 'above the frey'.
     Is Prince Harry SQUAWKING too much because he has something to hide, like the fact that HE and his CRONIES are responsible for not only the pathetic financial state of Nevada, but of the entire U.S.A., itself?
     Is the 'gentleman (ahem) from Nevada' objecting just a little too much?
     I think so. 
     And I think that Harry Reid is barking up a storm over Nevada brothels not so much because he hails from a position of 'high moral import'...but because he craves to be in the spotlight, once again and he'll do whatever it takes to get back there.
     Don't get me wrong-engaging in prostitution has enough negative ramifications.
     Those who do it for a living must face a myriad of consequences and life-impacts that are more often bad than good.
     Prostitution, gambling, booze, drugs, abortion, sexually transmitted diseases and various forms of 'abuse' are always potential cohabitants in the lives of the Bunny Ranch babes and their sisters.
     Family and friends are affected, not to mention 'significant others', if there are any.
     But, at least in Nevada some level of legal regulation is applied to and oversees the prostitution industry, which is more than we can say about the dog-and-pony show we have been forcefully subjected to by Nancy Pelosi and the 'squawking' Prince Harry.
     I don't know what set Reed 'off' here, but I think he's off-base.
     Doesn't he realize that it was Mary Magdalene, that 'fallen-woman-wrongly-branded-as-a-prostitute' by eons of male chauvinist church leaders who first saw the 'empty tomb' and then the Risen Christ?
     Doesn't Harry realize that it was 'the women'--those branded 'sainted' and 'fallen' and those 'in-between' who stayed with Christ under the cross...prepared his body for burial...and then were the first to 'see' him again after resurrection?
     The lesson here is that the way of Jesus is one of understanding, forgiveness and 'rebirth'.
     I urge Prince Harry to 'revisit' these tenets in the religion he claims for himself which is Mormon, also known as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
     And as one who has 'worked' with prostitutes with my street and church ministries for many moons, I speak from the soft places of my heart.
     I want to remind my sisters everywhere and whatever they do for a living, that they can, at any time, earnestly pray to 'our God of second chances and new beginnings'...
     And know we will all be heard.

Dear Ones All Over The World:
     I ask believers and non-believers alike to pray for the poor souls in NEW ZEALAND--in Christchurch, especially--who are suffering grief and loss at the hands of a devastating set of earthquakes.

Let us pray:

Dear God:

The world comes to you right now, with tearful prayers of supplication that you somehow relieve the grievous suffering of people in New Zealand.

We ask that you alleviate their misery and uncertainty.

We ask that you make your Presence profoundly known to those who are trapped, dead and dying...

And to those who lay buried and injured as they await rescue.

Lord God, have mercy on rescue crews, emergency personnel, triage workers, medical staff, disaster response volunteers, social workers and clergy being called to action in this great catastrophe.

Lord God, have compassion for those who suffer the loss of loved ones, cruelly torn from them, at this time--those 'found' and those many more not yet found.

Only you Father can provide us with what we need to withstand the horror present today in New Zealand in the aftermath of these earthquake events.

You alone know the 'purpose' of such devastation, as we depend upon only our faith to sustain us.

We look forward to the day when there is no more suffering and crying and we pray that that day comes soon, Lord.

And we pray these things in our individual traditions, as best we are able...

Dear Ones:

     I ask all in the world who read this to please join me right now to pray for Rhonda McGlinn who is in extreme pain due to an injurious fall.

Let us pray:

Lord God, hear our prayer.


We seek your Comfort when we are most in need, for we know you never fail us.


While we do not understand the purpose behind the pain and injury we might receive, we trust in your Judgement and Wisdom regarding your intentions for us.


Still, we ask, "Why must we suffer?  Why must your child Rhonda McGlinn suffer as she does?  What is your purpose for her?"


Please, Heavenly Father, relieve Rhonda's suffering and help her to discern just what is going on in her life at this time and help her to understand the reason for her suffering, and by extension, the suffering of her family and friends.


Please have mercy on Rhonda, Lord, and on all others who grieve and mourn for their loss of good health and well-being. 

Bless Rhonda with the strength and grace to bear what she must until she is healed and may her journey from pain to wellness be a testimony to you.
