Dear Ones:
     Unfortunately, information on this case is both slow in coming and is, apparently, being suppressed by the progressive liberal press.
     Please -- whatever your race and political 'persuasion', suppress your anger and try not to let things get out of control.
     I am taking my 'own advice', just so you know.  I told my daughter last night, "I am ALMOST sorry about all of my 'civil rights work'."
     She said, "Please--don't be that way".
     I thought about it, and I really am 'trying not to be that way'.
     But to hear of a WW II Okinawa WW II veteran beaten to death as so much 'fodder' for lowlifes who have no respect for life....I have to wonder.
     I'm trying not to succumb to anger in this area where Progressive Liberalism and 'White Privilege Initiatives' prevail.
     I'm trying to live the Gospel by not promoting vengeance and violence -- and by concentrating on my own 'spiritual self'.
     Yet a little part of me wants to say to all good, law-abiding people, Christian or not, to not be lulled into some kind of karmic 'trance' believing that racial tension does not exist any more.
     We are not in a 'post-racial period' and we have problems on the horizon, the likes of which we have not seen before in our fine country.
     Join me in believing these words:

Dear Ones:
     I have to admit that my knowledge of history isn't extensive.  I've always concentrated on math and the sciences....and then later on on theology.  As such, learning my history 'better', or even for the first time, is an ongoing vocation for me now, especially in this season of my awakened political awareness.
     I was raised as and have always been a 'civil rights advocate' and supporter and advocate for gay and lesbian persons.  
     However,  when members of my own church denomination pronounced me to be 'a racist homophobe' a few years back, I lost a great deal of initiative to 'fight for and with them'. 
      Granted, this is the denomination, the UCC, of Reverend Jeremiah Wright and his cadre of Black Liberation Theology minions.  But even I was surprised how 'unpopular' I suddenly became once it was clear that I was not  absolutely militant on BLT and LBGT/gay marriage. 
     The thing that 'clinched' my blessed rejection was when I dared to speak of holding some conservative views which I'd previously kept to myself.  I was silenced, shunned, reviled and rejected. Yes, I still seem to 'grouse and grumble', but it's to make a point.  I am grateful to have had such a front-row seat to intractable American History as bred in my very own 'church'. 
     The negativity started several years ago.  It was then that I learned that the group I had so strongly aligned myself with totally and utterly violated a tenet of Martin Luther King.   All blacks voted for Barack, period.
     While I was not surprised, I know I was lied to by some close friends who said they did otherwise, but surely they 'voted for the brother'.  Actually, I can understand that and if President Obama had turned out to be a good and uniting President, I probably would be applauding the whole thing.
     But the Obama Administration is creating racial and religious tensions in the U.S.A. and internationally, the likes of which I can't remember seeing since the 1960's.  Everywhere I go, people confide that they are 'leery' of someone or other due to 'race'.  It's really very disheartening and as I've said before, "I don't want no race war".  But I know we are all being dragged into it one way or another.
     Still, I'm an optimist.  I look to the better angels in people.  I want to cling to the things that provide us with hope, such as this latest Founder's Friday piece done by Glenn Back on 'Black Founding Fathers'.
     A little note here: if you are the type who is SO turned off to Beck for whatever reason, don't waste your time here.  Your mind is too closed to benefit from anything here. And if you are not willing to take the time to do a little research of your own to follow-up on this...likewise, just ignore this 'newly revealed' (publically, at least) bit of American History. 
     But if you would like to help seek 'our common ground as Americans' and to maybe avoid the upcoming inevitable 'race war', hang in there.  Maybe this Glenn Beck video and related material can serve as a common beacon of hope for those of us 'five times cut, and never broken'.  Please join me in this quest, if you can.

     The UCC (United Church of Christ) has a long history of being anti-Israel.   But, even the UCC saw that it was in hot water with it's prejudiced stance(s) and decided to make a show (on paper at least) of 'changing things...to be a little more compassionate towards Israel'  http://www.zionism-israel.com/log/archives/00000399.html  This happened at the infamous Synod 2007.
      Don't let any UCC resolution fool you, for anti-Israel, anti-Semitic sentiment is alive and well in the United Church of Christ.  Yes, the UCC actually harbors those who 'hate the land and the peoples of Christ's birth and life'.  Not only do I not agree with this, but I cannot understand how anyone calling themselves 'Christian' can do such a thing!  If it weren't so disturbing, it would be amusing that a group which so carelessly labels people as 'racist and homophobe' cares so little for anyone outside of their progressive-lib circle, all while touting their welcoming 'culture'.  It's ironic.  It's sad.  It's pathetic.  And it's wrong.
     This is the denomination which spreads the racial hate of Rev Jeremiah Wright, Rev Otis Moss and cohorts while they decry and defame anyone who is 'doesn't support UCC polity and policy'.  The 'inclusive and affirming' culture the UCC is so proud of is a ruse.  The truth is that contrary to what the UCC says,  anyone moderate or conservative need not apply for membership or expect to be treated decently unless they are 'mute', donate lots of money and keep any moderate-conservative opinions they may have to themselves!

     People can lie to people, but it is sheer folly to even pretend to lie to God.  Anti-Semitism is alive and well in the UCC in a most insidious way, for they don't even acknowledge their own prejudices.  The denomination (movement)  I once defended manifested yet more hate yesterday, on Holocaust Remembrance Day, of all days.
      No acknowledgements and nothing even like common decency or trying to not mortally wound people ever entered the mind of UCC The Rev. Frederick A. Felger(ret.) of Omaha Palestinian Rights Task Force of Nebraskans for Peace today:

     Maybe Rev Felger has hardening of the arteries of the brain like Rev. Wright must have when he gets off with his radical anti-American and anti-white spew.  I don't know.  All I do know is that the UCC, no matter what they say, fool fewer and fewer every day.  Their bank accounts show it.  They're so desperate to 'regroup' and get money anyway they can that they even have a new television commercial 'set to go viral' (UCC words) any day now.  So be it.
     We'll all be judged.  I am content that I am at a place where I need no longer defend the indefensible, praise God.  I am free and 'still speaking'.
