"An Open Letter To All Stamford Residents From MoniqueThomas Independent Party Candidate For CT State Rep From The 148th" By Reverend Barbara Sexton

Dear Stamford Residents,

As we approach the special election on Tuesday, April 12th, I find it important to more clearly clarify who I am as a candidate and what constitutes my beliefs and qualifications to represent my neighbors in the 148th District of Stamford.

It has come to my attention that my association with the principles of the tea party movement has been mischaracterized by the press and at least one of my opponents.

First and foremost, the tea party movement is just that, a movement, not a political Party. Because the principles of the tea party movement are:
· fiscal responsibility,
· personal accountability,
· constitutionally limited government,
· and allowing businesses to run on an even playing field free of crony-capitalism and over burdensome regulations

… I got involved in the movement. These principles ring true for me. I was one of four founders of a local organization of tea partiers to promote these American principles that our Founding Fathers recognized.

As I have been speaking with Republican, Unaffiliated, Democrat and Independent registered voters across the district, most agree that it is time to restore sound fiscal policy.

I believe that it is essential for elected members of our government to abide by the rules we have allowed them to ignore for decades. This is why I am asking to be the next State Representative from the 148th.

As a member of the tea party movement which encourages individual responsibility to be a leader in one’s community, over the last two years I have participated in producing educational programs on a weekly basis right here in Stamford. Some of the topics of the programs have included voter fraud detection, economic literacy, the US constitution and the role of the 10th Amendment. We also hold discussion groups relating to State and Federal legislative issues that impact the citizens of Stamford.

I am proud to have helped my fellow citizens understand the election cycle though candidate vetting sessions and candidate training classes, voter education and voter registration drives. As a result of my leadership more citizens are getting involved.

Looking at the other 4 candidates in this race, I have not seen any effort on their part to bring this sort of information to the general public. I believe I will be the best Representative that you can select on Tuesday, April 12th . While I have the endorsement of the Independent Party, my allegiance will be to my constituents and not a political party.

From the land of the free and the home of the brave,

MoniqueThomas

"Letter To The Editor-Special Election On Tuesday, April 12th for State Representative of the 148th District" Posted By Reverend Barbara Sexton 'Dear Ones Healing Ministry'

(From e-mail):
Please consider telling your family and friends in the Glenbrook and Cove Area of Stamford to
Vote for Monique Thomas for State Representative of the 148th district
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stamford Advocate
Letter to the Editor;

It’s been 27 years since I left the Cove area in Stamford to build a home in Greenwich.

At that time, I Was past president of the Cove Neighborhood Assn., Co-Chairman of Citizen's For Neighborhood Schools and I was also a board member of CONA (The Coalition Of Neighborhood Associations.) My four children all attended Murphy School.

I say all this hoping that some in Stamford will still remember me, and will consider my recommendation to vote for, and support, Monique “Mo” Thomas, who is running in a Special Election for State Representative of the 148th district.

Even with all the massive buildings that went up and the large corporations coming to Stamford since I left; I understand that the taxes are proportionately higher than ever. Monique signed the no tax pledge to; “oppose and vote against any and all efforts to increase taxes.”

Monique, who is running as an independent, petition candidate, is the founder and past president of the Greenwich / Stamford Tea Party. I’ve known Monique for almost a year and have found her to be of good character, bold and courageous. Too many of today’s politicians seem to be spineless, not so with Monique; she is very outspoken, Anyone who knows Monique, will tell you that she is a fearless, tireless, dyna-MO.

If you’ve had it with people who make promises but don’t deliver, if you’re tired of voting for the lesser of the evils, if you’re concerned with government waste and high taxes, if you want someone you can depend on to be in your corner, vote for Monique Thomas.

You can find Monique’s web site on the internet @ www.moforstamford.com

Remember To Vote In This Special Election On Tuesday, April 12th

Thank you for your consideration,

Nick Fortunato

"Maureen 'The Magnificent' Boylan" By Reverend Barbara Sexton 'Dear Ones Healing Ministry'

VIDEO REMOVED BY REV. BARB AT THE REQUEST OF MAUREEN BOYLAN WHO IS NOT A MEMBER OF THE TEA PARTY PATRIOTS!--Rev. Barb  edited 8/22/12
Dear Readers:
I've got to hand it to Maureen Boylan, especially in view of her recent 'letter to the editor'
LINK: http://www.stamfordadvocate.com/opinion/article/Clean-house-in-the-Government-Center-1311567.php
Not only does this lady have the 'intel', she's also not afraid to 'name names'.
In fact, Maureen does what few others are either capable of or willing to do.
She fearlessly 'calls into accounting' those politicos who have been off on a bender for a very long time now in Connecticut.
She's 'had it'--as many of us have-- with the 'wilding' that is going on where the good-faith and dollars of honest, hard-working taxpayers are abused as if it is the right of the 'Progressive Lib Dem 'ruling class' to do so.

Maureen Boylan and Barbara LeCornec beamed after they obtained their Connecticut civil union license Saturday morning at Stamford City Hall.
     Politics is intoxicating, isn't it?
I have no choice but to believe that the 'ruling powers' get some kind of perverse 'kick' out of brow-beating those who do not share their liberal ideologies.
     "Shared sacrifice", indeed.
I'm not talking about compassionate assistance for the young, the elderly and those with special needs--not at all.
I am not talking about denying ANYONE decent medical care, either, but, rather, refer to the 'libertine special interest groups' Progressive Lib Dems particularly 'pander to'.
'They' will squeeze us for our last hard-earned dime in order to subsidize those promised their 'various entitlements', without the slightest regard for the fact that most (formerly) well-heeled Connecticut residents are ALREADY subsidizing many of their friends and family members.
But do Progressive Libs understand that particular principle of hard-working conservatives?
      Nope.
While conservatives only know how to donate, help, render assistance and give to others, Progressives only know how to set up 'grant seeking' 501 (c) 'non-profits' to grease their political machines or to become their political machines.
Then they set up an Attorney General who will not entertain any questions about them, just as on the federal level we have a U.S. Attorney General with his own agenda, whatever that may be.
For some reason, Progressive Libs consider themselves to be 'impervious' to calls for 'shared sacrifice' and all I can say is 'Shame on them!'.
The Progressive Libs want to rule and subjugate 'special interests' and the poor by creating a 'beholden constituency', who will vote 'often' and exactly as commanded.
They want to tell ALL how to live, how to give and when and where to do it.
And if worse comes to worse and one balks too much...or is not 'subjugated enough' the Progressive Libs then simply attempt to 'shut us up and out' and tell us to move along.
Well, good luck shutting up the likes of Maureen Boylan.
Just last night at a Tea Party Patriots meeting, I brought her name up in the context of a discussion we were having about voter fraud a la Bridgeport in the November 2010 election cycle.
I referred to Maureen as a 'lone brave soul' and how even with her 'resources' she was not capable of affecting or changing recent election results...so how can 'we'?
I don't have an answer to that, but Ms. Boylan's letter certainly is a breath of fresh air for those of us who are marginalized conservatives in a wild Progressive Lib bastion state.
 LINK: http://dearoneshealingministry.blogspot.com/2010/10/meet-stamfords-maureen-boylan-at.html
LINK: http://dearoneshealingministry.blogspot.com/2010/10/required-viewing-for-all-ct-voters.html
We'll persist, she'll persist and perhaps by the time our children and grandchildren come of voting age, there will actually be a CHOICE amongst politicians.
Perhaps there actually will be a 'non-corrupt' choice to 'tick off' on legal ballots which will be 'correct in number', not photocopied, and filled out during legitimate polling place hours on election day..
Perhaps 'nepotism' will not be the accepted order of the day in any town or city in Connecticut.
Perhaps our children and grandchildren will be able to vote in fair elections where arbitrary calls are not made in abuse of the reverse 911 system.
I pray this will be the case.
Then even if our conservative young ones fail to see their candidates elected, at least they will have the peace of mind and heart that they 'lost' fairly and squarely.
It's a pipe-dream for us now, but God-willing, with good people like Maureen Boylan around who are literally willing to put it on the line, we may get there someday.
Scripture tells us, "The leech has two daughters. Give! Give! they cry." (Proverbs 30:15  (NIV)
Enough have heard this long enough and recognize it as coming from those who 'rule' our state.
It's so bad that no sane, viable businesses or individuals would choose to stay in, let alone move to Connecticut and the loss is great.
To be in Connecticut today is literally 'fiduciary suicide' for businesses large and small and we all know it.
Read any of the numerous 'anonymous' commenting areas online and you will see that the true heart of Progressive Lib Dem sycophant reveals a 'if you don't like it here, get the hell out of here' mentality.
Seriously.  That's what they say to those who are not quite liberal enough for this area.
Progressives are so close-minded that anyone not just like them need not speak and should just leave.  Get it???
And, sure enough, with the long-standing 'old guard' in place, we've watched the inexorable migration of big corporations out of Fairfield County and out of Connecticut.
Not coincidentally, this has all originated way back in the late eighties with the massive corruption uncovered in the Tri-State United Way, et.al., 'Progressive Lib causes' to which these large corporations donated frequently and generously.
Just as the rich corporate community in Stamford 'got wise' and 'got going'...(those who survived, anyway)... so goes the private community nowadays in Fairfield County.
      It's a shame, really.
Connecticut is such a physically beautiful place and it's a shame that there is such 'ugliness in high places'.
Then we have 'Maureen The Magnificent' and again we believe we can keep on keeping on despite it all.
She's one sweet beauty and one worth keeping, this Maureen Boylan.
God Bless You

"Malloy's Insider Misery: CT Dems Totally Split This Year About Him & Many Issues"

Poor Dan Malloy.  He's taken to 'ripping' into his fellow Democrats.  READ HERE:
Dannel Malloy Rips Democratic Fundraiser Carl Feen For Supporting GOP's Tom Foley As Race Is Dead Heat  LINK: http://blogs.courant.com/capitol_watch/2010/10/dannel-malloy-rips-longtime-de.html
Can we BLAME MALLOY?  No, actually, for not 'one' but 'many little birdies' have confided in this 'political-neophyte', yours truly.  And what 'they're saying' is that THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY IS SPLIT BUT GOOD...And with GOOD REASON.
Is it ME or is it....'unFUTUREGOVERNORLY' for a gubernatorial candidate to put forth the following?:
"The hypocrisy here is stunning," said Malloy. "Carl Feen is the consummate 'insider' - he raised money for candidates and bragged about his connections to them, while using state government to rip off taxpayers and pocket close to $500,000 in the process. Tom Foley is touting the endorsement of someone who took money out of the pockets of hard-working people in this state, and my running mate, Nancy Wyman, is actually the person who led the charge to force Cigna to put that money back into state coffers. If providing new leadership and a break from the status quo really is so important to Tom, then he must immediately renounce Carl Feen's endorsement, who certainly represents none of those qualities.''
My oh my oh my oh my! All this name-calling, naming and claims of illegalities! Dannel sounds like the 'nosey neighbor' leaning over the yard fence gabbing-it-up with the latest nasty gossip!
But this is no casual backyard conversation and I sure hope that Dannel Malloy and his people  can BACK all their allegations UP!  This is serious STUFF!
And what's with all this 'insider talk', anyway?  Based on all the alleged 'insider law fees' between 'the Malloy camp' and Andrew McDonald, we've no doubt Dan is well-versed in 'insider issues'.  And those of us left in Stamford are left 'suffering' with those legal bills...not that Dan or any of his supporters gives a hoot...
But more importantly, isn't it just a tad...'UNFUTUREGOVERNORLY' for Malloy to be speaking as he does ABOVE?  I think so.  For Pete's sake, doesn't the Malloy Campaign have some POLITICAL LACKEY they can call upon to do this 'dirty work' for them?  Is it just that Malloy cannot HELP HIMSELF, at this point?  I don't know!
But Dannel Malloy's continual 'naming of names' and details and alleged 'illegalitites' seems so...I don't know...petty and out of place.  Can't Dan's campaign amass the FACTS on the ISSUES and RELEASE them? And shouldn't illegalities be better studied in a COURT OF LAW?
(I should be careful about what I wish for, considering the MASSIVE LEGACY of OUTSIDER LEGAL FEE WE CITIZENS OF STAMFORD NOW OWN THANKS TO THOSE WHO SUPPORT DANNEL MALLOY!, but still.....)
I'm guessing the Malloy campaign cannot do any of the above and prefers to do the 'down and dirty politics' of old.  They seem to not be able to resist the netherworld of this election cycle for some reason, probably because they are scared stiff with Dan being the biggest 'scaredy-cat' of all.
The intense PRESSURE  Progressive-Lib Dems are feeling must REALLY, REALLY be a concern to Dan at this point, considering how close in the polls  MY FAVORITE CANDIDATE for CT GOVERNOR, TOM FOLEY, is.  I know your camp is concerned and I feel for you, Dan, wherever you are today ripping into your fellow Democrats.  I FEEL for you!
But I want to be PROUD of my state Governor, the way he speaks, what he speaks of and most of all, how he keeps a steady-eye on fairness, legality, equity and TRANSPARENCY in all matters.  And I want my Governor to know how to delegate.
The ability to 'delegate' is most definitely the sign of a 'good leader', don't you think?
GOD BLESS AMERICA

From e-mail:

Who is Phil?

Born in Italy, raised in Connecticut and eager to bring Common Sense back to CT. Hi, my name is Phil Balestriere and I am running for State Representative in District 148, Cove and Glenbrook area. Our government and their bureaucracy need to step aside and let the free markets work as they have successfully for over 200 years. Take the fiscally irresponsible elected officials’ credit card away. Tax payers are fed up with their wasteful spending. The state should spend only what it takes in, borrow only what it can pay back and if it’s broken, get rid of it. This is pure common sense.

Career politicians need to step down. Business owners, like me that know how to balance a budget, will not pass legislation that will roadblock common sense. Layers of bureaucracy that have put a hurting on Connecticut will be streamlined.

You can’t balance the budget until we balance legislature.

I have signed the Republican Party Common Sense Commitment to CT. And most importantly, I have signed the Commitment for CT offered to all candidates across CT. This document can be found at www.cfc.us. Please join me in signing the Declaration of Independence and view the candidate commitment letters. The Commitment For CT is a clear statement of what I am going to do in Hartford for all of us. Policy, not platitudes.

I will leave you with this thought.

Folks, your future is at stake and your vote will determine whether we get back to business or spiral to the worse state to do business or live in. Vote Republican and save CT.

Phil Balestriere

I have gotten to know over this past year. He is a fine, decent, friendly and CAPABLE candidate and the kind of person you'd be happy to have as a friend.  I'm happy to know Phil because 'he is us' and 'he is me'...when it comes to representing us in government.
There's nothing phony about Phil....Unlike the GLUT of COMMON CANDIDATES we see today, Phil is the 'REAL DEAL'.
Please vote for Phil tomorrow Nov 2, 2010--I sure am!
And be sure to visit www.cfc.us and see the Commitment for CT letter Phil has signed!God Bless You and God Bless America

"George Jepsen Just Won't Fully Disclose-Help Martha Make Him" By Reverend Barbara Sexton "The Biblical Biochemist-Where Science Meets the Cross"

Dear Ones:
I'm no 'legal expert'...but MARTHA DEAN certainly is.  And she's suing her opponent in the CT Attorney General race, George Jepsen for not fully disclosing his qualifications to serve as AG.
I have a PROBLEM with THAT and with anyone 'who fails to disclose'.  If there is nothing to hide and nothing amiss, then it will be obvious.
But the very fact that this lawsuit it necessary makes me wonder about GEORGE JEPSON.
This should make YOU wonder, TOO!
Won't you join me in helping Martha 'get to the bottom of this' and protect the futures of our children and grandchildren?
Read below for how you can help today.
Thank You & God Bless You

George Jepsen
"Martha filed a lawsuit against Jepsen this past week when he failed to disclose his qualifications to serve as AG under the clear standard set by the Supreme Court last Friday. We need to raise $11,000 over the weekend to pay for the top notch legal team Martha hired.
Mr. Jepsen is now hiding behind legal arguments and does not want to tell the voters or a judge why he believes he is qualified to serve as AG. The people of Connecticut need an Attorney General who can be an effective advocate in the Courts of this state, not just another politico. We need to keep the pressure on because the voters of the state deserve to know if he can be their advocate. We know that Martha Dean has the experience and qualifications and will go to court when it is the right thing to do.

"GOP FILES COMPLAINT AGAINST CT TREASURER DENISE NAPPIER" By Reverend Barbara Sexton "The Biblical Biochemist-Where Science Meets the Cross"

Dear Readers:
     UH-OH.
It looks like Connecticut's State Treasurer DENISE NAPPIER has gotten herself into a passel of trouble.  Read about Denise's travails BELOW!--Rev. Barb

State Treasurer Violated Election Laws with Timing of CHET Press Conference

NEW BRITAIN – Connecticut Republican Chairman Chris Healy filed an Elections Enforcement complaint Wednesday against 12 year-incumbent Democrat State Treasurer Denise Nappier accusing her of violating state election laws over her promotion of a student loan program within a 60-day window of the election.

“Treasurer Nappier consciously violated the law when she allowed her staff to use tax payer resources in the Treasurer’s Office to plan and orchestrate a media event designed to promote her reelection,” said Healy. “Nappier allowed her image and printed quotes on materials distributed by The Hartford to the public. Nappier has been in office long enough to know this is a prohibited activity within 60 days of an election.”

During Nappier’s official October 6th press conference announcing “CHET Advisor” Nappier attempted to compensate for the poor performance of the fund as compared to other states by announcing reforms to the program that had long been advocated by both investors and professional organizations.

“Nappier knows that she has been misleading families about the true performance of the CHET program,” said Healy. “This media event and the involvement and the manipulation of The Hartord are an attempt to use a fresh coat of paint to cover the mismanagement and underperformance of her administration.”

The Treasurer’s office should be made to reimburse The Hartford for all costs associated with the publication and distribution of CHET Advisor materials designed to aid in her reelection.”

The violation concerns promotional activities with the Connecticut Higher Education Trust (CHET) program, which allows parents to set aside tax deferred funds until they are needed for college tuition. The Treasurer is responsible for managing the funds.

It saddens me so to see that this 'once bright and shining star'--Denise Nappier--must now be replaced by someone who can RESTORE FISCAL ACCOUNTABILITY to Connecticut's coffers.

That 'someone' is JEFF WRIGHT and I urge you all to cast your ballot for JEFF on Nov. 2.
Thank you and God Bless You

They are working together with Citizens For Change and they have developed Candidate Commitment statements for each and every race on the ballot in November, from State Assembly to Governor, and the US Congress. The Tea Party movement in Connecticut is at a crossroads, and this initiative not only helps us promote our tea party principles, but also helps us hold our candidates accountable. Please go to the Citizens For Change website at http://www.cfc.us/ and read the Candidate Commitments for each race, and ask your preferred candidate(s) to sign on and make their Commitment for CT. At the website you can also sign an on-line Declaration of Independence, and sign up for news & updates. For more information, please contact Richard Olivastro at RichOlivastro@gmail.com

Get involved on a campaign or two. A couple of suggestions...
Phonebank, distribute yardsigns, register voters, host a meet and greet or a fundraiser. Write letters to the editor. Go door-to-door with your candidate. Distribute literature. Volunteer at the polls. Assist the GOTV campaign for your favorite candidates.

OR JUST WRITE A CHECK.

Some campaigns have chosen not to take taxpayers money to fund their campaigns.
Martha Dean and Phil Balestriere, for example, have chosen a principled position from the start. A direct donation to their campaigns would be greatly appreciated.
