     The Bible says that God is an ever-present help in time of need. God is with us. The Lord is kind and merciful, the Bible says, to all who trust in Him, to all who call upon Him. He will help us. He will help me and He will help you. We do not need to become anxious for things beyond our control. Nothing is outside of God's control. Not one thing.

     Trust in the Lord and be assured in your heart that He will act on your behalf, He gave His own Son for us all. Will He not also, with Him, freely provide for our needs? The scarier things get, the more we need to give God praise. Not because we are crazy, and not because we don't understand the seriousness of life's difficulties. But because we know that the battle is not ours. God is He who watches over us. The Lord, kind and merciful, is He who answers our prayers.
     Jesus said that the Father delights to give us the kingdom. He also taught very clearly that we are to trust God for all our needs. Did He not give us the example of the birds who do not produce goods for trading or gather food into barns? Did He not say that the Father feeds them? And did the Lord Jesus not teach us that God clothes the flowers in such rich colors - flowers of the open meadows that are here today and gone tomorrow? The Lord is good to provide and He will provide.
     It is good for us to learn to depend on God. It is good for us to trust in God, as our currency claims we do. It is good for us to know the Lord and to serve Him.
     If you find yourself staring out at the hills, or the far horizon, wondering how and when your help will come, you are not alone. Many Americans are facing times they never thought they would see. Times come and go. Storms come and go. One year is rich and fat and another is lean. But God never changes. He helps us in good times and bad. He is with us in the boat and with us along the dusty road. He is with us when we are born into this world and with us as we go out again. The Lord will not leave us or forsake us. He will carry us through the fire, through the deep waters, and all through the darkest night. The Lord will keep us. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Amen.

Dear Readers:
     What a day...what a night...what an election, yesterday! 
     My very first foray into 'political activism' culminated in an abysmal loss for TEA PARTY-endorsed candidates in Connecticut, but not elsewhere.  Nationally, we had A BIG WIN!  So all-in-all it was a terrific day!
     From Day 1, we knew that Connecticut would be a 'tough nutmeg to crack'.  Considering how 'miserably marginal' many of the Progressive-Lib Dems' 'wins' were, I'd say we've made major progress nationally even in uber-liberal areas, so it's all good!
     Poor President Obama, tail between his legs, tried to 'reach out' as he hasn't before.  The guy looks relieved, truth to tell, like someone who is almost glad that he can acknowledge he's 'in over his head'.
     And no doubt, our President is surrounded by synchophants who are ALSO IN OVER THEIR heads--like the Election officials in Bridgeport, Connecticut!
     Hard as it is to believe, these people failed to have a sufficient number of ballots for registered voters yesterday!   Surely, these incompetents leave the following questions to be answered:
     Why were so few ballots ordered, as claimed? 
     Who came up with the original 'order number' and how did they come up with it?
     Were so few ballots actually ordered or is that just the claim? 
     If the full amount of ballots were ordered, was the surplus hidden or stored and if so, where...or were they destroyed?
     Were so few ballots DELIBERATELY ordered so as to create an irregularity at Bridgeport voting places?
     Were any of the 'photocopied emergency ballots' pre-marked and if so, by whom and when and where?
     Who are those responsible for the dearth of ballots?  What are their political affiliations?  Who are they working for?
     When was the ballot-shortage discovered?  Was it acted upon promptly?
     Obviously this is not a comprehensive list of questions, but perhaps Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch will step up to the plate and initiate a thorough and ethical investigation.
     Yesterday was interesting in Stamford, too.  For the first time ever, I served as a 'Runner' at a local polling place.  A 'Runner' is legally designated to 'collect data from a polling place'.
      My little BlackBerry in hand, I essentially entered voter numbers all day long.  I found many discrepancies, inconsistencies and inaccuracies, which I cannot discuss here. 
     It is any one's guess what these discrepancies, inaccuracies and inconsistencies mean, but better brains than my own will be looking into all of them.
     I'm 'good' with bulk data because I enjoy handling it.  And I enjoy the 'pressure to perform' for a good cause.  Still, my responsibility was only to cross names off a list of registered voters.   But little did I know that my 'exercise' was destined to turn into much more.
     Within two hours of the beginning of my data collection, the 'BIG BOOK LADY' balked at the Moderator asking her to 'check things' at my request regarding the 'discrepancies, inaccuracies and inconsistencies' I refer to above.    
     After a lengthy discussion, I was told that it was 'no one's province' to provide any clarification of the input data they were obliged by law to provide to 'us', or to 'me in particular', as an official 'runner'.
     I don't know if that's true, but it was 'slow' at the time and it would have been a simple matter to look up a few more numbers and names for me so that my records could be reconciled...and so I would 'shut up'.
     In no uncertain terms, the 'BIG BOOK LADY' let me know that I was annoying her.
     Yep, the 'BIG BOOK LADY' and her cohorts were clearly not going to be bothered, whereupon two hours into my endeavor, I simply declared, "OKAY, I'll collect my slips, enter what I can and in the case of more than one voter for a number, enter the FIRST-alphabetically-by default-and let it all be examined afterwards."
     And that's precisely what I did until 8:00 pm when the polls closed.  A colleague of mine who monitored the situation first hand the entire time argued about 'it not doing any good after the fact' (to reconcile the data).  How true, how true.
     But as a 'Runner' and a 'political newbie', I decided to just collect my data like a good girl and let the waves roll as they may afterwards.
     By the end of the day, the 'BIG BOOK LADY' and her cohorts wouldn't even talk to me.  So much for our political officials being unbiased and non-partisan. 
     It would have been so easy to take a few moments to help reconcile some data, but no, there was no interest in doing that.  In all fairness I have to say that the Moderator under whom I worked at my assigned polling place is a good guy.  He did his best to accommodate me, at first, with understanding for the need to answer my questions. 
     But, alas, the Moderator, too, was subject to the vagaries of the 'BIG BOOK LADY' and I easily decided to not make the fellow's life any more difficult than it already was.
     This is only politics, after all.
     I'm sure you readers can appreciate the irony, then, that I was subjected to having just dealt with 'THE BIG BOOK LADY' and her cronies as I drove over to the Foley Event at the Greenwich Hyatt on election night.  It was then that I got my first hint of the problems in Bridgeport with their apparent 'shortage of paper ballots' in a radio report. 
     As I drove along, I heard that many polling places in Bridgeport were going to stay open until 10:00 pm.  I wondered 'how the heck this ballot shortage could happen?' but after what I'd witnessed first-hand here in Stamford, I really was not at all surprised about the Bridgeport situation.
     Sure people deserve to vote.  But any 'Registrar of Voters' who screws up THAT badly is suspect in my book.  Lack of cooperation, partisanship and 'dislike' of others not like themselves is something I understand about election officials and accept it for what it is.  But the Bridgeport situation  is a whole different kettle of fish. 
     The TEA PARTY lost big in Connecticut, but nationally we kicked butt.  Reports at this moment state that "Dannel Malloy is the winner in the CT Gubernatorial Race and a recount will not be necessary".
     It's good to know that the Progressive-Lib Dems have such a superior knowledge about 'what will or will not need to be recounted', even before the final count is actually completed.  Is this 'super-intelligent and legitimate data handling', 'wishful thinking' or 'something else'?
     Do we have the right to ask such questions or will the 'Lady with the 'Big Book' once again ball her pudgy little hands into tight fists saying  "ENOUGH!  IT'S NOT MY JOB!".  Will the CT Secretary of State tell us the WE ARE NOT ALLOWED A RECOUNT?  Will the MALLOY CAMPAIGN stand in the way of one?  Will we be told to GO AWAY?   
     Well, we're NOT going away.  We HAVE taken over the house.  Things WILL be different nationally and locally.  We won BIG this election cycle and it WAS a referendum on President Obama and the Democrats.  Best of all WE FIRED NANCY PELOSI! YAY!!!!!!!!
     But Connecticut is Connecticut, after all, and that means it's 'Progressive-Lib-ville' and will stay so for a while it seems.  But that's okay because 2012 is around the corner.
     I hope Dannel Malloy enjoys his marginal 'win'...if it is a win at the end of the sure-to-come investigative process' and I hope the Progressive-Lib Dems are proud of themselves. 
     They did it!  They rule the teeney 'Nutmeg Isle' and I suggest their first order of business after their gloating settles down be the installation of a 'TEA PARTY REPUBLICAN TSUNAMI WARNING SYSTEM'.
     They'll need it starting immediately and especially for 2012.  They'll never get it up in time with their organizational paradigm, but it will be interesting to watch them try.  Sad for them that the Democrats are brutally DIVIDED in Connecticut as they are all over the U.S.A.
     We all know that 'a house divided against itself will not stand'.
     And if the MALLOY CAMP has any class at all, it will be DEMANDING A RECOUNT themselves, though I won't hold my breath for that likely non-eventuality. 
     Maybe I'm naive, but I would want to know that the candidate I supported won 'fair and square'.  'What say you, Malloy supporters?'
     Anyway, yesterday provided me with a great costume idea for Halloween.  Next year I'll have a new costume that is destined to scare adults and kids alike when I dress up as 'THE BIG BOOK LADY'!
     My white knuckled fists clenched in defiance, I will scare the DICKENS out of young and old alike!
     Aaarrrrgggggghhhhh!  HERE SHE COMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I pray that God will Bless All our duly Elected Officials, our Candidates, their teams, the electorate and the constituency.  In short-

Since I don't know how many of my readers have ever heard of this scam, I am writing about it here.

And here's my suggestion for a REAL PRAYER LIST.  Let's start with the person or persons who have participated in this HOAX with less than noble intentions.  Pretending to have cancer is not nice and not funny. 

Let us pray that God has mercy on the unfortunates who think it is...that they change their ways and have a miraculous conversion to 'sentience'.

     America and her true allies remember this day, September 11, 2001. 

     It is NOT a day for 'burning anything'. 

     It is NOT a day for complaining about petty things or for making arguments in favor of foreigners here who 'may or may not be' terrorists themselves.

     This is NOT a day for 'politicking' or campaigning.

     This is a day to uplift the United States of America.

     This IS a day for the real victims of September 11 and their families and friends. 

     This IS a day for the first-responders, those emergency crews who prove that God is present on earth. 

     This IS a day to honor the response, rescue and resolve of the 'good guys' of ALL nations and colors, races, religions and creeds and to uplift them. 

      This IS a day of  SHAME and DISGRACE for those who HATE the goodness of America and of the FREE WORLD.

     On September 11, 2001, we witnessed the 'winnowing of wheat from the chaff'. 

     We witness God's Hand at work on earth in a very real way when we honor those who have worked, suffered and died due to the selfish hatred of those who love evil.

     On this day, we consider the UTTER DISRESPECT and LACK OF SENSITIVITY of the NYC Ground Zero Mosque 'Cordoba Initiative' of  Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf  and his Park51 Project and condemn it.   

     We utilize this prime opportunity to 'pray for and love our enemies'.  

     May God grant Americans and others who cherish freedom the discernment to recognize HATRED for America and her allies in all it's incarnations.

     May God grant us the ability to recognize when religion is being used as a weapon.

     On this day of remembering September 11, 2001, we are a stronger, smarter, sharper and more fearless people determined to root out ALL that is a threat to our way of life and very existence.

      May God embolden even the WEAKEST among us to stand up to the intimidation of the terrorist mentality. 

     On this day, we soundly condemn those faceless cowards whose only intent is to wreck havoc upon God's people for their own gains. 

     Let this day serve as an example to the free world of our resolve.  

     Let those of us all over the world who are so inclined PRAY RIGHT NOW for God's Blessing on this ninth anniversary of September 11, 2001 and--

On July 23 he stood, at attention, in front of RS Richmond Commanding Officer Maj. Benjamin Sanders to accept the title of Marine."

 Dear Ones:
     This is something I know a great deal about.  Please take a moment and read Staff Sgt. Thomas Perry's entire article about cancer patient/honorary 'Marine' Derrick Owen.  Please note that the 'honor' bestowed upon Derrick is not one of mere show or without substance, as Derrick is a 'poolee' in the DEP (Delayed Entry Program) and, therefore, 'the real deal'.
     To Derrick's Mom, I say, "You BET your faith will get you through all this".  Some of the 'very best praying' I've done has been in the wee hours of the morning, alone, in a hospital ladies' room...on a patients front porch...or in the chapel of some hospice unit.  May God grant you all strength, hope and endurance as you help your son fight for his life.
     To Derrick, I say, "You BET you're not a typical patient.  You're going to beat this thing!".  I tell you this because I know. 
     You see, my own husband Bob, USMC (ret.) tank commander, was diagnosed with a rare, advanced 'aggressive' form of prostate cancer several years ago.  Like all patients and their families, we were overwhelmed with fear, uncertainty, too much information, too many choices, too many opinions and not enough time. 
     But we knew 'we' had to do something fast, for there was no 'wait-and-see' option which is common for those with prostate cancer.  Fortunately, I was able to pare down and interpret the medical-ese for my husband Bob and that helped. 
     But no degree of information consolidation or interpretation can provide the BRAVERY and STAMINA every 'advanced' cancer patient needs to have in order to survive. 
     No amount of support or assistance or even prayer alone can replace what the advanced cancer patient must muster within him or her self--faith, sheer strength-of-will and determination!  You know what I'm talking about.  It's what you 'get' in the Marine Corps and learn to react with instinctively.  For more faith--just ask God and He will give it to you.  When you want to 'kick a--', ask the Marine Corps.
     Sure enough, after a thorough examination of all options, I am proud to say that Bob formulated his game plan and made his appointments.  He didn't shirk from the most radical of options and elected the most aggressive approaches for what was an  aggressive cancer.  He chose radical surgery, radiation and drug therapies. 
     He acted quickly, decisively and forcefully and guess what?  After a couple of years of fighting like hell to get 'back to normal', Bob BEAT that cancer!  And not only is he 'cancer-free' right now, but he is fully functioning and doing things they said couldn't be done!  Of course my alternative 'therapies' help...but bear in mind that he is a long-sight older than you, Derrick, which is part of why I am telling you this.
     Did my husband have such a good outcome because of the Corps blood pumping though his veins?  I believe so.  Combine this resolve with strong faith from God and you can do anything. 
     Having observed so very many patients getting 'bad diagnoses', there was no 'initial paralysis'...no protracted period of being overwhelmed and in utter despair for my husband.  What he did was get it in gear and use the RESOLVE & FEARLESSNESS imbued in him by the grace of God with his years in the USMC!
     Thus,  Derrick, I know you are going to fare well.  You have that same RESOLVE & FEARLESSNESS, too.  And someday, you are going to help others by sharing stories of your faith, strength and your steadfastness.
     So I say, "best wishes and Godspeed" to you in conquering our 'biological enemy' known as 'cancer'. 
     Your family and friends and all of us here are praying for you, encourage you and support you as you muster what you will through sheer strength-of-will, the determination of the United States Marine Corps 'way' and by the grace of God!

FCC Stamford 'Goddess Prayers' A Commentary By Reverend Barbara Sexton "The Biblical Biochemist-Where Science Meets the Cross"

Dear Ones:
     I am not going to pretend that alterations to 'The Lord's Prayer' and to Christian prayers in general don't get my attention.  They have for a time at The First Congregational Church of Stamford and I say this as a 'relatively liberated Christian female pastor' who is still a member of FCC Stamford....on paper at least.
     But recently, some major happenings  (I'm not one for the use of the terms 'abominations') have come to my attention.  There's been a lot of prayin' to the MOTHER GODDESS!  Apparently Reverend Cari Jackson and her minions like this kind of thing.
     The only reason I bring this to your attention is because this praying has been done in "The Pilgrim Church, The Church That Founded Stamford" and they use kids to further their theology!      

Open and Affirming=Gay Marriage, no matter what they tell ya!

     This church is now 'run' by  The Reverend Doctor Cari Jackson, about whom I've written before.  The FCC Stamford is a UCC (United Church of Christ) church and is also known as 'the Obama/Wright' church, for those of you who are interested.  CHECK THIS OUT:

All: We gather in this place of prayer to celebrate the love of God, our Mother, and to feel the warm embrace of God. We gather as one human family.
Leader: We gather seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit to become more fully the people and the community our Mother God created us to be.
All: As we worship, let us be filled by the love and life and be renewed by the hope and home that fills this place of prayer made holy by God’s presence.
    Change is good!  And as long as I am on your member list and tithe and donate my dollars, I expect, at the very least, your honesty.

      All I can say about this dear man is that I hear the Holy Spirit speaking through him!  I appreciate the beautiful Christian Graphics he labors to provides us with and I pray for him all the time.  It is a true blessing to see what he writes for us on behalf of the Lord. 

Please pray for him, also, as I do, and it will be a blessing for you, too!

JOKE: A father was at the beach with his children when the four-year-old son ran up to him, grabbed his hand, and lead him to the shore where a seagull lay dead in the sand.

"Daddy, what happened to him?" the son asked.

"He died and went to Heaven," the Dad replied.

The boy thought a moment and then said,

"Did God throw him back down?"
